Aguilar-Glasson Take
Vows In Catholic Church
Miss Ann Glasson, daughter of
Mrs. Aline Glasson of Lubbock,
and Joe Aguilar Jr., son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Aguilar, Sr., of
Seminole, were married June 30
at 8:00 p. m. in Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in
Amarillo.
Rev. A. Rodriguez performed
the single ring ceremony. The
wedding music was provided by
Miss Esperanza Gonzales, organ-
ist, who played the "Marche
Pontifidale."
Miss Glasson was wearing a
white dress with a long fitted
waist which gave way to the full
pleated skirt. She wore a white
hat, gloves, a single strand of
pearls and a pink rose corsage.
Mrs. Mary C. Green of Lub-
bock was matron of honor. Mr.
Jim Green of Lubbock served as
best man. Tony Gonzales served
as usher.
At the reception that followed
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.
B. Gonzales, Mary Gonzales
served the punch, Lupe Aguilar
served the wedding cake, and Hel-
en Gonzales presided at the bride
book.
The couple will make their
home in Lubbock, after Sept. 1,
where Mrs. Aguilar will finish
high school and Mr. Aguilar will
enter Texas Tech.
Hughes Plan to
Leave July 23
Minister and Mrs. D.L. Hughes
of the First Christian Church,
will leave Monday, July 23 for a
trip to Arizona, Colorado, and
Nebraska.
Mr. Hughes is scheduled to
preach in Globe, Ariz., and he is
also to preach in Falls City, Neb.
While they are gone the
Hughes will camp out-of-doors,
and they will also visit with their
son, Boyd Hughes, in Beloit, Kan-

Stated Meeting
The stated meeting of the
Methodist W e s 1 e y a n Service
Guild met Monday, July 16, at
8 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Cath-
erine Spivey at 615 SW 11th St.
in Seminole.
Miss Helon Martin presented
the program "Scattering Seeds in
Brazil," The devotional was giv-
en by Mrs. Evelyn Wolffarth.
After the program was given,
a discussion followed on Mrs.
Martin's plans to aittend C e t a
Canyon as a Guild delegate.
Members voted to have an ice
cream, supper on their next meet-
ing which will be held Aug. 20.
It was reported that all members
are urged to attend. A special in-
vitation was extended to any
prospective new members.
Refreshments were served to
Mmes. Mary Lou Baverousett,
Evelyn Wolffarth, Marie Row-
land, Catherine Spivey and Miss
Helon Martin.
Sigma Delta Chi
Holds Regular Meet
The members and pledges of
the Sigma Delta Chi met Mon-
day, July 16 in the home of Jene-
anne Gist.
The members present were
Shirley Richardson and Barbara
Wink. The pledges attending
were Jeneanne Gist, Jewel Den-
ton, Betty Welch, Judith Woods,
Linda Winks, Kay Ann Whippo,
and Pam Goodall.
Refreshments of lera onade
and cookies were served by the
hostess.
Next meeting is scheduled for
July 23, in the home of Judiith
Woods at 401 SW 11th.
Christian Church Dines
In Fellowship Hall
The members of the First
Christian Church of Seminole
met last Wednesday, July 11, in
the Fellowship Hall of the church
for a church dinner.
Mr. and1 Mrs. Jack Jackson
furnished and made tee cream for
the group, after the meal.
Following the dinner, Mrs. A.
R.. Croffland of 615 SW 8th in
Seminole, took charge of the pro-
gram, which was arranged by
her brother-in-law, Elmer Croff-
land. Picture slides were shown
of the different scenes jn Japan,
Four 4-H Girls
Attend Camp #
Four 4-H girls representing
Gaines county attended the
joint 4-H district camp in Lub-
bock from July 9-12.
The girls participated in all
camp activities including handi-
crafts, amateur p h otography,
recreation, and Spanish customs.
The theme of the camp was "Fi-
esta Del Llano Estacado."
The girls attending were San-
dra Bishop, Freda Tyson, Sylvia
Pattie and Lou Wescott.
They were accompanied by
Miss Oharlene Potts, assistant
Home Demonstration Agent, and
Mrs. Vivian Liner, home demon-
stration agent, both of which
helped with the camp and camp
activities.
There were 161 boys and girls
attending the camp this year.
and other places where Mr.
Croffland was stationed.
Mrs. D. L. Hughes said that
the most interesting scenes were
those of Mt. Fugi, the different
gardens and towns, the aerial
view of the annual Cherry Festi-
val, and the aerial view of Hong
Kong. .
West Side Club Meets
In Young Home
The West Side Home Demon-
stration Club met Thursday, July
12th in the home of Mrs. K. E.
Young.
Roll call was answered by a
home freezer hint, followed by a
short business meeting. All mem-
bers will meet at Mrs. H. E. Dick-
erson's July 27th to make sand-
wiches for the election day con-
cession Stand. The proceeds of
this sale will be applied to the
club building fund.
Refreshments o f H o r D'oeu-
vres, cake and punch were serv-
ed by the co-hostesses Mrs.
Charles Cope and Mrs. K. E.
Young, to the following mem-
bers; Mmes. T. B. Fulkerson,
Berl Ancell, Travis Richardson,
H. E. Dickerson, Sonny Nelson,
M. J. Henderson, W. F. Combs,
Grady King, Delbert Jefferies,
Vauder Travis and Misses Mary
Robinson, Sue and La Rue Kidd.
The next meeting will be held
in the home of Mrs. Travis Rich-
ardson.
Hester Family Reunion Attracts Sixty-Eight
Sixty-eiglit persons, family and
friends, attended the annual Hes-
ter reunion this year which was
held in the Seminole Commuhity
Building, July 7-8.

Rebekah Lodge Meets
In Oddfellow Hall
Seminole Rebekah Lodge No
42, was in regular session Tues-
day night, July 17, in the IOOF
Oddfellow Hall with Noble
Grand Ethel McCain presiding.
After the meeting was called
to order, the appointing of three
new officers took place. Mrs.
Marie Skaggs was appointed as
degree captain, Mrs. Eva Ben-
nett will be the new drill captain,
and Mrs. Lillie Hoffman was ap-
pointed to serve as the Lodge re-
porter.
Refreshments were served by
hostesses Mrs. Eva Dumas and
Mrs. Charlottle Bowles to the
15 members and Lodge mascot,
Sharion Dianne Lytle, after the
close of the business meeting.
At the next meeting, Tuesday,
July 24, the Lodge will have ini-
tiation for three new members.
Miss Carolyn Watson, a stu-
dent at Texas Western, spent the
weekend in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. B. T. Baggett.

A G.A.Y. Associational Youth
Rally will be held in the First
Baptist Church in Seminole,
July 22 at 3:00 p.m., it was re-
ported Thursday. "
"Glad Tidings" Topic
OfW.M.U. Gathering
Ladies of the McCoy Circle of
the First Baptist Church met
Monday, July 16, in the home of
Mrs. B. L. Simmers, because of
the illness* of the previously an-
nounced hostess, Mrs. A. A. Sut-
ton.
"Glad Tidings" was the title
of the Royal Service Program
telling of the birth of W.M.U. in
foreign lands, presented by Mrs.
G. S. Hughes and Mrs. B. L.
Simmers.
Those present included Mmes. j
Pearl Baker, Frances S t imac,
Pat Aryain, Fleta Waldrop, G. S.
Hughes and B. L. Simmers.
One new member, Mrs. Faye
Turman, was present for the
meeting.
The next meeting is scheduled
for Monday, July 23, in the home
of Mrs. Dink Aryain at 1:30 p.m.
Frank Gray, evangelist, will
lead the team in the service.
Frank was converted February
27, 1956 and is a student at How-
ard Payne College.
Edward McCarley, a sopho-
more at Howard Payne College
from San Antonio, wiH lead the
singing. He has led the song
services in revivals and has tak-
en an active part in the church.
Helen Houston, a high school
student in San Antonio will play
the piano and give talks to the
girls on soul winning.
It was reported by Mrs. J. .C.
Chancellor, church secretary,
that all the young people in Sem-
inole and the surrounnding area
are invited to attend this one day
youth rally.

Marries at Roxton, Texas
Rainbow Girls Meet
In Masonic Hall
The Rainbow Girls met July
12 in the Masonic Hall at 6:30
for their regular meeting, with
worthy advisor TCay Dene Ches-
nut presiding.
After the meeting was called
to order, Mary Parker gave a re-
port on the swimming social,
held in the Seminole Public
Swimming pool on July 4.
Kay Dene reminded the girls
to save all of the scrap iron that
they could find for their scrap
iron drive, which will be held
sometime in August. .

cookies and punch were served j
to members by Lynn McElroy,
Ann McMurray, Charlotte Cook
and Judy Lowery..
It was reported that the next
meeting will be held July 26.
A semi-formal double-ring
ceremony performed in the Meth-
odist Church Saturday, July 6 at
Roxton, Texas, united Miss
Madge Waits Watson and Tyrus
B. Dover of Oklahoma City, in
marriage.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Rufus Wat so i end the late
Mr. Watson of Roxton, and the
groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence B. Dover, Foreman,
Ark.
The Rev. A. B. ~)v ican of Irv-
ing, former pas.o- of the Rox-
ton church performed the cere-
mony before the altar banked
with greenery, decorated with as-
ters, stock and candelabra hold-
ing white tapers.
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, John W. Watson,
wore a gown of white Chantilly
lace over taffeta. The basque
bodice was made with square
neckline and three-quarter length
sleeves. Her elbow-length veil
of illusion was attached to a
lace crown trimmed with pearls.
She carried a fan-shaped bouquet
of stephanitis centered with an
orchid.
Mrs, Robert D. Courson, Ty-
ler, sister of the bride, was maid
of honor and word a pink net
dress over taffeta, pink head-
dress, and carried a bouquet of
pink and blue summer daisies.
John Horton of Oklahoma City,
Okla., served as best man. The
ushers were Sgt. Rufus Wheel-
er Watson, Fort Sill, Okla.,
brother of the bride; Robert D.

When the couple left on a wed-
ding trip Mrs. Dover was wear-
ing a navy blue shantung dress
with white accessories and a
white corsage.
The couple will make their
home at 2014 South Kentucky
Place, Oklahoma City, Okla.
The bride is a graduate of Rox-
ton High School and holds a B.
S. and MS degrees from East
Texas State Teachers College in
Commerce. She is a member
of the American Association of
University Women, Delta Kappa
Gamma Sorority, and has taught
school the past two years at Sem-
inole, Texas.
The groom is a graduate of the
Foreman, Arkansas, High school,
the University of Arkansas,
and is now a chemist with the
U. S. Geological Survey stationed
in Oklahoma City.
The reception was held in Fel-
lowship Hall of the First Meth-
odist Church which was decorat-
ed with white stock.
Among the out-of-town guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ver-
million and Mr. and John Gol-
man of Seminole.
Local Girls Attend
Big Spring Camp
Seven local girls left Monday
morning, July 16 for the Girl's
Auxiliary Encampment, District
8, in Big Spring, Texas.
The girls are all members of
the South Seminole Baptist
Church. Mrs. E. M. Moore accom-
panied the girls and is serving as
their sponsor for the week of
camping activities.
Wayne Randolph, pastor of the
South Seminole Baptist Church,
is acting as the camp pastor dur-
ing the week.
Mission .study, fofward step
work, recreation and sports are
some of the activities in which
the girls will participate.
Those attending the camp are
Barbara Baker, Carolyn Baker,
Jimmie Lou Murphree, Charlotte
Dumas, Betty Moore, Kay Jeff-
ries and Lee Ann Stone.
Genavee Mize Hosts
Phi Gamma Gamma
Members and pledges of
the Phi Gamma Gamma met
Thursday July 12, in the home of
Genavee Mize, for their weekly
meeting.
After the meeting was called
to order, the members voted to
give half of the profit made from
selling candy to the cancer ac-
sociation.
VVt the end of the business
meeting, refreshments of sand-
wiches and punch were served by
Genavee Mize and Ann Morri-
son.
The members present were:
Norma Moore, Ronnie Prather,
Kay Chesnut, Mary Walden, Pa-
tricia Ragan, Eva Fuller, Ka-
trena Williams, Ann Morrison,
