Alpha Omicron Mu select-
ed a tradition from one of
the foreign countries to
delight the children. Two
Mexican pinatas filled
with candy were suspend
ed on a rope And dangled
before the blindfolded
children. Each child took
turns trying to break the
pinatas and then scrambl-
ed for the scattered can-
dy. The adults enjoyed
watching the activity as
much as the children did.
A truck and float bor
rowed from Higginbo-
tham.-Bart.lett Co. and
driven by Hugh Norman
picked up the group of
families at the Pioneer
Store to go Christmas
caroling: Forty plus peo
pie climbed aboard. The
first stop was Bluebonnet
Village where the group
was invited in and went
down each hallway sirig
ing carols to the resi
dents. After gaining an
audience, more carols
were sung and some of
the residents joined in the
singing1.. Another stop was
the home of Kathy and
pan Neff. who were un
able to attend the social
because of the birth !ot
their daughter earlier in
the week.
After returning to the
Pioneer Store, everyone
sat around the fireplace
and the Christmas tree
eating cookies and drink
ing hot chocolate. Santa
Claus came and ialked to

out a gift to everyone pre-
sent.
Before the close of the
evening, members of
A.O.M. held a very brief
business meeting.
The seventh regular
meeting of A0M was held
the previous week on
December 10 at the home
of Dianne Bartee.
President Bobbie Cox
called the meeting to
order and led the mem-
bers in the opening ritual.
After the secretary and
treasurer reports, com
mittee cha rmen were
asked to discuss their ac
tivities.
Elevce Cauble said
there is no ways and
means project scheduled
at this time. Service chair
man Mindy Skelton col
lected canned goods from
each member to begin
preparation of the Christ
mas baskets. She also
asked for names of
families in need of one of
the baskets. Suggestions
were given and a discus
sion followed. .
First Lady committee
chairman Carolyn \\ aller
reported that the votes
had been counted and the
First Lady for 1980 had
been chosen. Plans are be
ing discussed for "the
January affair honoring
the outstanding lady of
the community.
Social co chairman Dee
Balliew reminded every
one of the Christmas Par
ty to be held Saturday.

each of the pledges to a
c om mittee since s o me
vacancies needed to be
tilled, thus involving the
pledges more in the acti
vities of the sorority chap
ter. After these assign
ments were made the
meeting was adjourned.
The program on "Right
or Bights" was given by
Dee Balliew, assisted by
Betty Balliew

buted, getting everyone
in a party mood. Each
member brought a "gag
gift," each of which was
numbered. Then mem-
bers drew a number and
were given the corres-
ponding numbered gift.
Starting with the number
one gift, each member had
to open her present, then
show it to the group. This
went on until everyone
had opened her gift.
Dianne Bartee, Bobbie
Cox, and Dortha McCoy
served refreshments of
birthday cake and soft
drinks. Pictures were
taken of the five charter
members blowing out the
candles. These charter
members are Dee Balliew,
Beverley Salters, Talou -every
Cain, Dortha McCoy, and
Janis Edmison.
The Albany Chest cop- profit corporation affiliat

contributed to date. The Funds contributed to the
