The meeting was opened with
a prayer led by the class teacher,
Mts. Fred Dea. Miss Nora Wal-
ters presided over the business
meeting and brought the devotion-
al on "Prayer." The Lord's Pray-
er was then repeated in unison.
A reading, "The Product of a
Finishing School'' was given by
Miss Ann Harrison. A medley of
songs of '89 was sung by a quar-
tet composed of Mmes. C. L.

Vera High School, and was strick-
en Monday morning while at
school. He Is survived by his
parents. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Jack-
son; two brothers, Donald Joe
and Gary Wayne of Vera; and four
sisters, Virginia Ann, Genelle,
and Peggy of Vera and Mrs. John-
nie Parker of Wichita Falls,.
Funeral services were held at
the Vera Baptist Church at 3:30
p.m. Wednesday, conducted by
Rev. Max, Copeland who came
from Fort Worth for the service.
He was assisted by Rev. W. M.
Copeland and the forrrfer Super-
intendent ol' the Vera schools, War-
ren Morton. Three beautiful duet
songs were rendered by Reba and
Norma Patterson, with Mrs. Carl
Colston, pianist. The large audi-
torium held just about half the
people, and there were many
flowers. Beautiful tributes to his
fine Christian character were paid
by the three speakers. The fam-
ily has a host of friends who sin-
cerely mourn his going.
Pallbearers were: Lewallen Coff-
man, Ernetft McGaughey, Theo
Allen, Bobby Hardin, Raylin Hard-
in, Lamoine Richie. He was laid
to rest in the Friendship ceme-
tery, under direction of Harrison
Funeral Home.
