Dr. Clinton warns that students can fall into a hole if they

Clinton cites poor class
attendance as problem
With the beginning of the academic year, some wonder
has arisen concerning how the top man at WTC (that is Dr.
Robert Clinton, President) feels about the progress this
college should make. In this interview, some of his
thoughts are outlined.
WT: What are your goals for this semester?
Clinton: "Nothing more than normal. We want to
serve the students, encourage friendship and
camaraderie, and good student-teacher rela-
tionships."
WT: What do you think is the greatest asset WTC
has to offer?
Clinton: "Individualized attention is our greatest ad-
vantage. Students should try to help
themselves, but if they ask for help, they can
receive it."
WT: Are there specific problems you have had in
the past that you would like to alleviate?
Clinton: "We would like to make a push to get
students to attend class and correct the situa-
tion we have had in the past, but it is up to
individual students to make it for
themselves."
WT: What other problems can poor attendance
cause?
Clinton: Grade trouble. If people will utilize their time
to work hard, success is most probable. As
absenteeism rose last year, so did failures."
WT: How can students with problems contact
you?
Clinton: "I encourage anyone with problems in classes
to discuss them with their instructors. The
counselors are also an excellent source of in-
formation. Anyone with administrative pro-
blems can contact my secretary and find a
time to talk with me. As I've said before, my
doors are always open."
