Tate Fenoglio (2) steps into the end zone Friday night for
one of his four touchdowns on 26 carries for 276 yards.
Continued from Page 6
in the third.
It was then the Indians
went to work.
The tribe ground out three
first downs moving 63 yards
to score on a three yard
punch by Fenoglio with 1:16
to go in the period.
The defense held, and the
offense went to work pound-
ing the ball to the Tiger 5.
Hill was held to two yards on
third down, and the officials
ruled Fenoglio came up a
yard short on fourth and goal
from the three.
Not to matter, six plays
later Eugene Zapata was sep-
arated from the ball at the
Tiger 32. Four snaps later
Fenoglio was back in the end
zone. Leon's kick pushed the
lead to 28-14.
When the Indians jarred
the kickoff return loose from
McCall Maddox, it took the
tribe just two plays to make
them pay. Behind the block-
ing of Raul Anaya and
Caiden Fenoglio Tate
Fenoglio exploded 36 yards
over right guard for the
game's final score.
Maddox returned the
short kick off to Nocona's
48, and the Tigers got to the
31 before Weldon's pass to
the goal line was tipped by
John Jennings and intercept-
ed by Jennings in the end
zone allowing the tribe to
run the clock out for the win.
Hill rushed for 190 yards
on 19 carries Friday while
Fenoglio pounded out 276
yards on 26 carries for four
TDs.
At 2-1 in 3-AA action,
Nocona is tied with
Henrietta and Wichita Falls
City View for second place
in the district standings with
two games to play as
Holliday sits atop the charts
at a perfect 3-0.
C ontinued from Page 6
outcomes the final two
weeks.
A Mustang victory Friday
would leave them and the
Eagles tied at 3-1 heading
into the finale.
A Holliday win and the
Eagles are no worse than co-
champions while City View
would be left with a must-
win situation against the
Indians in the finale.
A Henrietta win Friday
would virtually lock up a
playoff berth for the
Bearcats as they host Alvord
in the season finale.
An Indian win would
leave the Bearcats becoming
Nocona's #1 fans and pray-
ing for a tribal win in the
finale to push the Mustangs
into a tie with Henrietta for
third place - where the
Bearcats would advance
based on head-to-head
results.
But for Keck the message
is simple.
Take care of business and
good things will come the
Indians' way. Don't take
care of business - like turn-
ing the ball over or commit-
ting penalties - and the sea-
son finale could be for all the
marbles.
