the District 9-AA Defensive
MVP in softball, according to
the district's eight coaches. She
was one of four Lady Indians to
receive post-season honors.
With the defeat Saturday of
9-AA champion City View in
the state play-offs, the coaches
released the All-District listing
for the year.
Junior Ashley Beddingfield
was named to the first team as
an outfielder.

AUSTIN - The Nocona
Indians struggled through the
first round of the Class AA State
Golf Championship Monday
finding themselves in seventh
place in the eight team field.
Entered as the Region II-AA
champions, none of the Indians
broke 80 while 15 other golfers
shot between a one under par 70
and 79.
Junior Jameson Fenner led
the tribe with an 81 while
Tanner Barnett added an 85,
Trevor Fenoglio an 87, Mitchell
IJlibarri a 93 and Luke West a
102.
Defending champion
Edgewood led the field with a
best-four total of 316 just two
strokes ahead of Salado with a
318.
Sonora had a firm grasp on
third place with a 326 with
Muleshoe 10 strokes behind in
fourth at 336 followed by
Franklin with a 343, Troup with
a 344 and Nocona with a 346.
Lone Oak, the Region II runner-
up, which lost its No.l golfer to
disciplinary action, trailed with
a 357.
The second round at the Roy
Kizer Golf Course was played
