6 Abilene Christian College Graduate School
uate School. Besides the Dean of the Graduate School, who serves as
chairman, and the Dean of the College, the Graduate Council includes
nine members of the graduate faculty. These members are appointed
by the President of the College for three-year terms, with three new
members joining the Council each year.
Degrees Offered
Abilene Christian College offers courses of study leading to the
degrees of Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Education.Major and Minor Programs
Courses leading to graduate majors are offered in the Biblical,
Biblical languages, Biblical and Patristic Greek, doctrinal, historical,
.practical, and religious education fields of the Department-of Bible;
in the accounting and general business fields of the Department of
Business Administration; in the elementary teaching, secondary
teacng, el-ementary principalship, secondary principalship, elementary
supervision, secondary supervision, and guidance services fields
of the Department of Education; and in biology; chemistry; history;
mathematics; and speech.
Courses leading to graduate minors are offered in the fields
listed in the preceding paragraph, and in agriculture, art, economics,
English, French, journalism, music, physical education, physics, psychology,
and Spanish.
General Regulations
1. Responsibility of the Student
The graduate student must accept full responsibility for knowing
and fulfilling all of the general and specific regulations and requirements
for admission to graduate study and for completing the
chosen program of study. For this reason, it is imperative that the incoming
student become familiar with all the regulations contained in
this bulletin and to satisfy the requirements on the schedule and in
the manner required. Failure to do so will seriously hinder satisfactory
completion of a graduate program.
2. Admission to Graduate Study
a. Admission to graduate study is granted by the Dean of the
