Howard Payne University is located in Brownwood, Texas, about 120 miles
southwest of Fort Worth and about eighty miles southeast of Abilene. A commuter
airline serving Brownwood makes connections with the Dallas/Fort
Worth Airport, one of the largest in the world. Brownwood is almost exactly
in the geographical center of the State of Texas and is in the edge of the hill
country found in south central Texas.
Brownwood has a population of 20,000 including the student body of
Howard Payne University.
Aims
Howard Payne University is a church-related, liberal-arts-centered university
which seeks to prepare a student to live a good life while making a living
which will enable him to acquire the things his education has taught him to
appreciate.16
