EXPRESSION
"A human being can express only what he holds in actual
possession." The work in this department will develop personality,
open the channels of expression, help students to
find themselves. The body and voice are developed to obey
the will. An effort is made to develop the originality of the
student, not to impose certain fixed conceptions on him.
The student is led to gain the correct conception for himself.
His imagination is trained to be in sympathy with the joy
and pathos, heights and depths of the persons he is to interpret
in his readings or plays.80
