The Impressive peeesge from
Deuteronomy shows that more thin
three thousand yaars ago the ehfl
Iren of Israel were taught to love
Ood and to tesch his command-
ments to their sons and daughters
The words of the Lord were to be
In the hearts of parents and were
to be constantly brought to the
attention of children
Gods plan for the borne there
tore Includes proper care that all
the relationships of the home shall
be right The husband and father
la rightly tobe regarded as the
head of the home but he Is to be
worthy of the place The place ha
has Is not to be that of ateUJih
brant Be is to be loving and kind
toward his wife and wise and af-
fectionate and considerate toward
his children
Children are admonished to obey
their parents for that is right In
the ejes of Ood But the injunc-
tions to parents already noticed
Indicate that parents should be
worthy of obedience and should
exemplify In their own living the
high things they nquire of their
children
The Old Testament end the Hew
unite In giving us a comprehen-
sive plsn of the Hesvenly Fsthet
for the esrthly home and the mem-
bers of every family should care-
fully consider their severs places
and th > responsibilities Involved
