Bring to a boil, and add about 2
cups sugar.
Cook until apples are clear and
juice is thick.

CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE
1-4 c. shortening
1 1-2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 cups cake flour
3 tsp. Baking powder
1-2 tsp. salt
3 squares chocolate
1 tsp. vanillal
1 1-2 cups milk'
Cream shortening. Add beaten
yolks. Sift flour, measure, and
sift together with baking powder
and salt, three times. And cho-
colate (which has 'been melted
over hot water) and vanilla. A1
ternate flour and milk,

BROWN CUT CAKES
4 Tbsp. butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3-4 cup cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream sugar and butter. Add
whole egg. Sift baking powder
and flour together and add to
mixture. Add nuts and vanilla.
Bake in greased sheet pan in
moderate oven. Let stand in pan
until cool. Cut in 1 1-2 inch sqs.
