You have just walked
up to an old vacant
house and decide to
go in. Write a story
about the house.
Once, at school, he heard that the old Jason’s house was haunted. So I
asked my friends if they wanted to go explore the house. They said yes,
so I told them we were going to go at 9:00PM to make it even scarier.
It was 8:30PM, I went to Ramiro’s house to pick him up and go to the
old Jason’s house. We got to a black mansion with a rusty fence. When
we opened the fence door, it made a squeaky sound. When I heard it, I
figured out that people hadn’t been there for a long time. While
Ramiro and I were going to the door, he told me that he had heard that
a kid saw a sarcophagus in the basement. We went up to the old door
and tried to open it, but the door was locked. When Ramiro and I were
walking away, we heard a mysterious sound. We turned around and saw
the doorknob move. Then the door opened. We looked at each other
and went in. I said, “Ramiro, let’s go to the basement to se if what that
kid told you was true.” “OK,” he said. We went down the spooky
stairs. It made a different noise every time we stepped on one. We saw
something move. We ran down and saw the sarcophagus. “It was
true,” Ramiro said. Then we felt something touch us. We turned
around. “Mummy!!!” we yelled. We ran, but the mummy got me. I
heard the Mummy say something. It was our teacher Mrs. Williams.
“Mrs. Williams, what are you doing here?” “I heard you talk about
coming so I decided to teach you kids a lesson to not go in to strange
houses. But, I’m sorry I scared you two.”

It was a nice day outside when my friend and I walked by a two-story
house. But this wasn’t any ordinary two-story house; it was the scariest
one on the block It was scary and haunted; at least that’s what they
say. I didn’t believe in haunted houses until I was dared to go in by a kid
who lived next to the haunted house. I took the dare and went over to
the house to go in. My friend stayed outside; I guess he was scared of
going in there. The kid who dared me was waiting for me to go in. He
said he wouldn’t pick on me if I went in. As I went to the front porch,
the door opened without me even touching it. That spooked me out,
but I went in anyway. As I went in, I saw that the house was empty, like
a vacant house. Then I got out my flashlight to look around. As I was
looking around, I heard something move. I pointed at the noise but it
was just a huge rat! I was so frightened that I ran out of the house for
shelter. Everybody saw me come out of the house, but the kid that
Tomorrow
dared me to go in asked me if it was haunted. I said, “No. It’s just a
house filled with rats, that’s all!” So that’s when I thought, why not
make a haunted house for Halloween, and so we did.

“It’s big and scary with tons of spiders everywhere!” teased Christine,
knowing Ashley was scared of huge, old, and abandoned houses on
Rolinda Street. “Be quiet!” yelled Ashley. “Okay, knock it off,” yelled
Kristen and Diana The four girls were walking home from school and
Ashley and Christine always got in an argument when they passed the
huge house. “That’s it!” yelled Kristen. She threw down her bag,
grabbed Ashley and dragged her inside the gate. “Wait!” yelled Diana,
“Are you sure you want to go in there?” “It’s the only thing that can
cure Ashley’s scairdy-catness.” Kristen, who wasn’t afraid of anything,
opened the door and walked in with Diana and Christine pushing
Ashley in. When the girls saw what was in there, they were all amazed.
“It’s, it’s, it’s... clothes!” yelled Ashley. There were racks and racks of
clothes. Oh, and the shoes! There must have been a thousand pairs.
They spent the rest of the day playing dress up and trying on the shoes.
Everyday after that, they went back there. It was their secret hideaway
and it was the greatest discovery they ever made.

It was a dark Saturday night on October 31 st 1965. My two friends, Jon
and Derek, and I went walking to the gas station. Since we were bored,
we decided to cut through the cornfield. We were walking for about
ten minutes and we spotted an old, tall, vacant house. We went up the
steps and stopped at a big, brown door. It had a silver vampire for a
door banger. We hit the door banger twice and the door opened all
the way. We looked at it and there were cobwebs everywhere. I asked
if anyone had a flashlight and Derek had a small one that was real bright.
We went in the house. The door slammed hard by itself and we got
frightened. We kept going on. Something was banging on the walls and
we heard a howl. We got so scared that we ran straight to the door
and when we hit it, it came right open. We ran all the way to the gas
station and we started thinking that house could be haunted. Once we
said that, all the power went out. Derek turned on his flashlight and we
took the other way home. Every day from then on, we still think that
house is haunted. We have never gone to it again.

About 20 years ago, my three friends, Kristen, Christine, and Ashley, and
I came upon this old spooky house on our way home from the mall.
We all wanted to go in and see what it looked like, but you could tell by
our facial expressions that we were all scared. This house was on the
intersection of Davis St. and Casino Blvd. and it was huge. Everywhere
you looked, there were cobwebs and rust. We got to the front door
and Kristen said, “He-Hey Ashley, wh-why don’t you knock?” Ashley
said in reply, “Why me? Why not Christine?” Christine turned around
and looked at me. By her expression, I knew that she wanted me to
knock. I did it with total fear. I knocked and the door opened by itself.
Trembling, we all walked in and looked around. Kristen and Ashley
went further in, and Christine and I looked at the suits of armor. They
were really freaky looking. They were really odd and in some kinds of
rows. Kris followed them and found a huge box. “Hey, come over here
quick!” Kris yelled. The box looked old. Ashley said, “Open it! What
are you waiting for?!” I said, “Hold up, there’s a lock. Can’t you see?”
Christine pulled a bobby pin out of her hair. “Here you go,” she said
anxiously. Kris bent down and opened the lock. Inside there was a lot
of money. We grabbed as much as we could. Christine and I pointed
out tons of hundreds and fifties. I heard a noise, but cared nothing of it.
I heard it again but in a different spot. While we were walking, Kris
stopped to tie her shoe. I turned around and saw her. A few seconds
later, I turned around again to see if she was following us, but she was
gone. I told the girls and we looked for her for a few hours and found
no trace of her. We walked out and from that day on, we never saw
Kris, or that house again.

One rainy Halloween night, my friends, Diana, Kristen and Ashley, and
me had a sleepover. We were playing games and telling scary stories.
Exactly at eleven p.m., we heard a strange noise coming from an old
house down the street. Everyone went trick-or-treating so nobody
from any of the houses was there. I went to the backyard to see if I
could hear it, but I had no luck. Diana came to see what I was doing,
but I said, “Nothing, come on, let’s go back inside.” We did, but then we
heard it again so all of us went outside but still we saw nothing. Diana
and Kristen went in the kitchen to get something to eat. I was about to
go downstairs but then I heard a muffled, “Help me Christine!” By that
time I knew something was out there. Ashley was so scared I could
hear her teeth rattling. I went next door and saw Diana. I was so
relieved, but when I went passed her, she didn’t say a word. The old
house’s door was open and I heard Kristen say, “Christine, is that you?”
I ran in the old house with no thought just to go and save my friend.
Once I got in, I was running and then I fell. I had tripped over
something that was in the middle of the floor. I got up and then I saw a
weird glowing light. I was so frightened that I couldn’t even move. Then
Diana came in and I told her, “Stop, you’re going to fall!” She just
stopped while the light came toward her. She didn’t seem to be
frightened by it though. When I went to the back of the house, I saw
Kristen making the light! She was behind it all! Kristen turned around
and was laughing her head off. By that time, I found out how crazy my
friends really were.
