New SrX-ROOM company cot-
tage near Benjamin is occupied by
the Disheroons. Spacious rooms,
Venetian blinds throughout, mod-
ern conveniences, plaster walls and
a convenient arrangement make
it extremely livable in the sparsely
settled community where the plant
is located.

ARTHUR DISEHROON is sup-
erintendent of the Lone Star Gas
Co. compresser plant on highway
east of Benjarrfin. Disheroon is
here from Ranger, and has been
with the company since 1922. He
worked as a boy on the Fox sta-
tion construction in Oklahoma.
CHARLES STRONG, new night
operator at the Benjamin com-
pressor plant, lives in a rooming
house at Benjamin. He is a na-
tive of Ranger, and spent one year
working for the Ranger Flying
service before joining the Lone
Star Gas Co. He was a second
lieutenant and pilot with the Fifth
Air Force in the Southwest Pa-
efic during the war.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles George of
Wichita Falls had occasion to visit
some recently in the home of the
former s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.
i W. George of this place. They
were going over to Knox City to
see Mrs. George’s father, J. W.
Hamm, who was seriously ill. He
passed away there recently, at the
age of 87. Mr. Hamm had the
misfortune of being run over by
a car last Thanksgiving day. He
had gotten up from that accident
and was apparently getting along
all right when he suffered a stroke
that resulted in his death.
Elias Howe invented the sewing
machine in 1846.

EARL COX is one of the two
new employes at the Benjamin
compressor plant of the Lone Star
Gas Co. Born in Seymour, only
25 miles away, Cox was farming
until he took a job in helping with
the plant construction. His wife
was Miss Odessa Branch of Baylor
County. They have five children,
twin boys who are eight, a boy
13, a girl 11 and a boy of six. Cox
is station operator and works from
four to midnight shift.
Mrs. Mart Russell was in Dallas
recently and on her return was
accompanied by her daughter, Mrs.
J. M. Busby, and the latter’s two
children. They spent a week here,
and last week end they were join-
ed by Mr. Busby, and they all
went home Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. George came
in Monday night from Mexico and
Central America, where they had
been vacationing since Feb. 5th.
Mrs. George took the Lincoln and
went on to Atlanta, Ga., where
her sister is ill. R. L. is going
to Fort Worth, where he bought
a new Cadillac, and he and wife
are planning a trip to Florida be-
fore going to their home in North
Carolina. While in Mexico the
Geoiges visited one of the best
fshing grounds in the world, on
the west coast, and havp pictures
of two 9-foot sallfish which they
caught. Pulling in these big fel-
lows is a tremendous job, and Mr.
George says he does not care to
take any more of them. Between
the two big fish is shown a "little ’
dolphin, weighing only about 25
pounds.
