Farmers are assisting the
FFA with the production of
the rodeo, and will be spon
soring a western dance fol-
lowing the Saturday night
performance. The dance will
be held on the largest con-
crete dance slab in Texas.
One hundred dollars will
be awarded to the All Around
Cowgirl and Cowboy. This

Two of the traditional so-
cial events of Beta Sigma Phi
honor is determined on the
basis of the most points
earned in three events in-
cluding one or more timed
events and/or riding events.
Senior Bov events for sen-
ior high age boys are bull
riding, bareback riding, rib-
bon roping and calf roping.
The Senior Girl events will
include barrel racing, polie
bending, breakaway roping
and goat tying.
Junior events for boys and
girls 15 and under are barrel
racing and break away rop-
ing.
The rodeo books open May
3 and close May 7. Official
entry blanks must be used
with a notarized release. All
judge’s decisions are final.

dent Judy Clark reported
that plans for the Founders
Day Banquet were complete.
It was held May 1 at the
Highland School Cafetorium
and a dance followed at the
V.F.W. Hall.
Social chairman. Nancy
Montague, gave a report on
arrangements made for the
Mother’s Day Luncheon to
be held on May 8.
During the business meet-
ing the chapter voted to
submit the name of Sid
Payne for “Outstanding Sen-
ior Citizen."
Freida Altman reported
that the money from the
Valentine Ball had been pre-
sented to the parents of
Adriann Inman.
The chapter also voted to
send a cash contribution to
Jacqulinc Brown. She is the
daughter of a Dumas Beta
Sigma Phi sister who has
been stricken with a kidney
disease.
Following the business
meeting, the chapter enjoyed
the program given by Jane
Quarmby, foreign exchange
student from South Africa.
Her program was very in-
formative about her home-
land.
Members present were:
