JUST A SAMPLE of the many items that will be on sale Saturday and Sun-
day, September 29 and 30 at the Tule Creek Arts and Crafts Fair to be held at
the National Guard Armory. These are Tulia artists and craftsmen par-
ticipating in the show: (Left to right) Genella Holcomb, oil paintings and
china tea kettles; Marsha Sanders, dried arrangements, crochet pillows,
stocking; Lynna Cloer representing Kelly Cloer in oil painting. Other Tulia
exhibitors include Katherine Stephens and students, Evestus Keeter, Beth
Jackson and Remona Miller. A food booth will be furnished by the Tulia
TOPS club.
Tule Creek Arts And Crafts Fair
Features 50 Booths
Duality work of artists and crafts-
men will till 50 booths at the Fourth
annual I ulc C reek Arts \ Crafts Fair
to be held at the Julia National Guard
Armory on September 29th and 30th.
The lair is open Satutday from 10
a.m. to 7 p in. and on Sunday from 12
noon to 5 p.nt. A SI.00 admission is
charged adults and 50c for children.
Sponsored In the Julia Women’s
Division of the Chamber of Commerce
and coordinated bv Betty Foster of
Yellow Daisy Crafts, the fair will
feature unique handcrafted arts and
crafts made by exhibitors from Tulia.
Plainview. Lubbock. Amarillo, as well
as Stinnett. Claude. Canyon. Earth.
I’antpa. Borger, Pcrryton, Silverton,
Sudan. Wellington. Quitaquc, and
Brownfield.
A food bixith will be furnished by
the Tulia TOPS, and a door prize will
be given away.
Unity Study Club Meets
In Ratjen Home
Ihe I'nity Study Club held it’s first
regular meeting o! the year. Septem-
ber II in the home of Mrs. A. P.
Ratjen. who led the group in the
opening prayer.
Mrs. G. M. Brown began her year
as president ol the club by saying,
"how exciting to be a member of this
club, tit the sear of its Golden Anni-
versary". She counseled the members
to. "F'ccl tall. . . think tall. . . walk
tall. . . as soldiers do. You’ll be
amazed. It makes you taller inside and
out. You’ll be a bigger you. and
anyway it cannot make you smaller."
Mrs. H. T. Duke, introducing the
program on San Francisco said. "Exu-
berant. crazy. civilized, magical. San

Denise George Receives Scholarship
The Elkins Homemakers club met
September 5 with Ruby McAnelly.
President Gladys McAncllv called
the meeting to order by asking "are
you ready for the Fair?"
Recreation was led by Eunice May
and roll call was answered by "mv
idea of a future program.” Council
report, stressing the Bread Buffet and
a Home Tour were discussed.
Officers for the next year are presi-
dent. Dorothy Stockett; vice president.

May: treasurer. Virginia Sprawls: re-

Again this year, our hats are off to
all our senior citizens who participated
in the Swisher County Fair. We
certainly appreciate them taking the
time and effort to help make the
County Fair a success.
