Commissioners Court Corrects
Weed Control District Wording
The county's governing body moved
Monday during its semi-monthly session
to ''correct action" regarding a Swisher
County Noxious Weed Control District
hearing.
The motion adopted Monday states:
"Send notice to the Texas Department of
Agriculture of a public hearing to discuss
continuation of Swisher County being a
regulated county for the use of harmone
chemicals." The hearing will be Oct. 25.
Original motion contained the word-
ing "or dissolution of Swisher County
Noxious Weed Control District" This
wording was eliminated and the wording
that the county be "a regulated county for
the use of harmone chemicals" was
added.
S wisher County Commissioners Court
will also request a correction by TDA to
indicate that Swisher County has neither
proposed nor approved any amendments
to the special provision of the Texas
Herbicide Regulations and corrections be
made prior to publishing this data in the
Texas Register.
NO ACTION ON APPRAISAL
DISTRICT BUDGET
No action was taken on the Swisher
County Appraisal District’s proposed
budget. The Commissioners Court had
previously notified the SCAD that it
would not endorse the budget until the
contingency amount was lowered.
Bids were received from Yellowhouse
Equipment and West Texas Caterpillar
for graders. The low bid of West Texas
Cal was accepted for Precinct Three and
Yellowhouse Equipment for Precinct
Two.
Jones and Roundtree Architects was
employed for the County Health and
Human Services Building (former
Stcakhousc building) renovation. Archi-
tect fees arc to be paid from a Texas
Department of Health grant.
