a compass & a
rubber band
One day, there was a red
bunny. When he was conning
home from school, he tripped
over a rock and hit his head.
When he got up, he found a
magic compass. He went
home and told his mother,
“Mama, I found a magic
compass!’’
Joram, 8
I have a lot of rubber bands
and a compass. When I was
playing with my rubber bands,
Tomorrow
I hit myself in the eye, and I
stepped on my compass.Then,
I bought another one.
Jaime, 8
Once upon a Monday, a cat
went to the grocery store and
bought a rubber band for one
dollar. Then, he remembered
that it was his grandmother’s
birthday. So, he looked at the
rubber band. He said, “I am
going to give her my rubber
band.’’ he made sure the
rubber band smelled good. It
did not smell good, but he
said, “Well, my grandma
doesn’t always get what she
wants.’’ So, he went to his
grandma’s birthday party. It
was really loud. There were
lots of cakes, so he tasted one.
Then it was time to open the
presents. It was time for my
presents, and I wanted her to
think mine was good. And
guess what? She loved it.
Amy, 8
One day, I saw a cow going to
a party. He went and brought
a present. When it was time
to eat cake, the cow almost
ate all of the cake. Then, it was
time to open the presents.
The cow was first, and he
thought he could open the
present, but he couldn’t. The
birthday boy opened it and
saw that it was a rubber band
and a compass. The boy liked
the compass best.
