cluding members of the junior and
senior classes, sponsors and facul-
ty members of Honey Grove high
school, Attended the aiiriual juniOr-
senipr banquet in the Cypress room
ot the Holiday Inn in Paris, Sat-
urday night, April 29.
The theme, "The Roaring Twen-
ties,” was carried out in the dec-
orations of multi-colored balloons
and murals of 'boys and girls danc-
ing the Charleaton.
Gold and white, the class colors,
were accentuated at the tables laid
in whH6 cloths, and decorated with
gold spiral candles In gold holders
in a nest of net ruffles. Favors
were miniature horns.
Jackqueline Self, president of
the junior class was mistress of
ceremonies. The invocation was
given by Mike Roddy an<r the re-
sponse by David Carlock, president
of the senior class. The class pro-
phesy weis by Rosa Jean Shelton
and the class will by Gerald Dyer.
Superintendent D. R. Dodson
made a short tallk and Jerry Dav-
is, president of the student council,
spoke briefly.
Following the banquet and pro-
gram. the group danced to music
played by V. Bolton’s Combo of
Paris.

rington^ \

production in' the other lines be-
cause he’s letting everybody know
he wants their business. On his
first day as an agent (April 1st)
he got 400-X-dates not a bad day's

House. He bought a lot-of bal-
loons, emery boards and other
hand-out favors, gave away some
nice door*prize, and put himselT in-
to business. „ >
“Geen and his wife Barbara (the
former Barbara Seal, also of
Honey Grove and the daughter of
Mt. and Mrs. S. 1H. Seale, and their
daughter, Donna, have made Elec-
tra their home for the past five
years. Gene was high school coach,
and more recently manager of the
Chamber of Commerce. He is ac-
tive in Rotary and other business
and civic organisations, as well as
Presbyterian church work. Bar-
bara is not only active in civic and
church activities but is a business
woman, operator of The Green
Shop (flowers and gifts). Donna
just goes to school, plays and
“helps mother."
. . . “Gene Diedrick also picked
up a good spot for his new ofice—
right next dopr to the postoffice in
Electra. The whole side of the
building and one show window, ia
available for advertising, which
would be seen by everyone going
into the postoffice.”’
And speaking of business in the
district, the bulletin said, “. . . New
agent Gene Diedrick led the way
with 20 new and reinstated apli-
cations.”
