a According to an article in the
I Methodist All-Church Press
many Dutch Indonesians
are now in Holland—where they
were expelled as a result of the
nationalist movement against
colonialism in Indonesia—who
j are waiting and hoping that a
friend, church or group will give
them an opportunity for a new
j life in this country.
Before the emigrants can leave
with the DeJongs.
The DeJong family consists of
Mr. DeJong, who is presently
employed by the telephone com-
pany in Holland, and who speaks
English; Mrs. Nicoline DeJong,
and two children, John, age 14,
and Grace, 22. who is employed
as a secretary by KLM Dutch
Airlines.
Exact date of the family’s ar-
rival here has not been deter-
mined, but the ladies of Bellaire j
Methodist already have a firm
commitment from Mr. DeJong ,
on one point. It seems that cook- j
ing is his hobby and Indonesian
and Chinese dishes are his spe- [
cialties. He’s promised to share
