Trustees Election.
Notice is hereby given that an
election will be held in the town
of Carbon on Saturday May 1.
1909, for the purpose of electing
four trustees for the Carbon
Independent School to fill the
vacancies occasioned by the ex-
piration of the terms of the fol-
lowing; D. James, W. N. Jones,
W. C. Gorman and A. B. Ran-
kin. The election will be held
at the Burton Lingo old lumber
office and VV. N. Jones is ap
pointed manager.

touch with the records for a
number of years and states that

Bitten by Mad Dog.
One day last week Neal Smith
son of ex-Sheriff Smith, was
bitten by a mad dog at home
near DeLeon. Neal and his
father immediately left for Aus-
tin to take treatment in the pas-
tuer institute for at least twenty
one days.
There have been several mad
dog stories come from around
DeLeon since. A dog belonging
to Welton Dossett, who lives six
miles southeast of that place,
went mad and bit about a dozen
dogs before being killed. A
number of other dogs have been
killed on suspicion, and it is re-
ported that a man near Rucker
was bitten and at once left for
