Turns Out For
Pool Opening
A crowd' of around 600 turn-
ed out Friday night for the of-
ficial opening of the new swim-
ming pool in Westbury Park.
And capacity crowds were on
hand all weekend to try the new
•facility.
Mayor Lewis Cutrer cut the
ribbon for the official opening.
He expressed his thanks for the
largei crowd and1 said their at-
tendance showed their apprecia-
tion of the city’s efforts in pro-
viding a pool in the area.
Gus Haycock of the Parks and
Recreation Department introdu-
ced the speakers a n d Warren
Roquet, president of the West-
bury Civic Club, thanked the
mayor in behalf of the residents
of Westbury.
Nick Spillos has been named
manager of the Westbury Pool.
He is assisted by three life

bury will open their fall meet-
ings in the home of Mrs. Lon-
nie R. Holland, 6002 Duxbury,
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening,
