Kaye Kidwell, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. G.W. Kidwell, 3715 Mer-
rick, was chosen princess of the
festival, based on her singing of
"Wouldn't It Be Luverly” to her
own accordion accompaniment.
The festival ended Saturday
evening with a concert by Houston
accordionists Bill Palmer and Bill
Hughes, who played to an appreci-
ative audience of over 1000 in the
Crystall Ball Room of the Rice
Hotel.
The high point of the evening was
Mr. Palmer’s rendition of Pagan-
nini’s difficult "Concerto in D
Major, First Movement”, accom-
panied by Bill Hughes and Lilian
Dows, on the bass. Lighter selec-
tions followed in the inimitable
Palmer-Hughes comic vein. Pre-
sentation of awards followed the
concert.
A year is more than 31,000,000
