New Rule For
New Students
THE BELLAIRE TEXAN
A new rule applying to all
public school students new to
Houston goes into effect with
the fall term.
Anyone entering a Houston
school for the first time will
be required to present a cer-
tificate from their doctor that
they are physically, mentally
and emotionally capable and
free of communicable disease.
Such a certificate has been
previously required at the ele-
mentary level but is now also
required
level.

fringes erf carefree childhood:

his stew.
Said the waiter, “Don’t shout,
And wave it about,
Or the rest will be wanting
some, too.”
Anyone who is a member of,
or a .party to, the ruling or
policy-making 'group of any
organization needs courage and
tact. The courage to face oppo-
sition, and also the courage to
back down when need be. The
tact ito soothe with healing,
sweet talk wounds inflicted to
ever-lovin’ friends and name-
callin’ foes. Such is true with
your City Council and Chamber
Directors. Those bodies are
elected by you and as such, con-
trol various aspects of communi-
ty life. So, apparently, their de-
cisions must be respected until
next election time.
