Carl Mount
Dies At 49
Funeral services were held
Nov, 24 for Carl K, Mount, Sr.,
49-year-old independent oil op-
erator of 7723 Highmeadow, who
died Nov. 22 at Methodist Hos-
pital.
Services were held at St.
Martin’s Episcopal Church, the
Hev. Tom Baglay officiating.
Burial was in Forest Park West.
Mr. Mount formerly resided in
Bellaire,
A resident of Texas since he
was six years old, Mr. Mount
has lived in Houston for the past
20 years.
Mr. Mount was a member of
the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife, a
brother, C. W. Mount of Alamo,
Texas, his mother, Mrs. C. L.
Mount, two daughters, Sue Mount
and Mrs. Gaylord Gray; two
sons, Carl K., Jr., and Charles
Edwards; two grandsons, Bryan
and Gary Gray, all of Houston.
AAUWS Announce
Christmas Tea
The Houston branch of the
American Association of Univer-
sity Women will have a Christ-
mas tea from 4 to 6 p.m. on
Dec. 17 at the Houston Club.
The social committee, under the
chairmanship of Mrs. William
Bomar, will be in charge of this
affair.
The monthly board meeting
will be held at 10 a.m. on Dec.
4 at the home of the branch
president, Miss Maud Woods. A
coffee will precede the meeting.
Gordon Team
Holds Banquet
The Gordon third and fourth
grade football team blew the
final whistle on the football
season Saturday evening with
a banquet at Youngblood’s.
The banquet was given by
parents of team members in
honor of the players and their
coach, Jack Hudson. The Gor-
don team finished second in
season play.

Day Honors Go
To Mrs. Lindsey
Mrs. R. IT. Lindsey, 518 South
Third, came away from the an-
nual Achievement Day for the
Bellaire Home Demonstration
Club with eight blue ribbons,
and two red ribbons.
Achievement Day activities
took place Nov. 18 at the Almeda,
Texas Civic Center Hall.
Mrs. Lindsey won ribbons for
her afghan, date loaf candy, Hong
Kong caning, decorated’ tote bag,
down comfort, reed weaving,
mosaic tile, skirt and unfinished
quilt top. -qtfl'
Other winners were: Mrs. Wil-
liam Attaway, 5311 Holly, blue
ribbons on pralines and decorat-
ed straw purse; Mrs. A. Glueok,

in Holy Rosary Catholic Rites
The wedding of Miss Genevi-
eve Perucca, kindergarten teach-
er in Condit Elementary School,
and Patrick S. Coakley, Jr., of
Atlanta Ga. was solemnized on
Nov. 28 at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church.
Father D. O. Barthelemy of-
ficiated. Soloist was Mrs. Robert
L. Wright of Bay City, organist
Mrs. Harold Arnold of Bellaire.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Perucca,

A meeting of parents in the
West Richmond - Sharpstown
area who are interested in
teen-age baseball has been
called for 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 at
Richmond Elementary School

Mrs. Patrick S. Coaldey of
Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of waltz length magnolia colored
satin. Her Chantilly lace man-
tilla was an heirloom from the
groom’s family. Her bridal
bouquet was one large white
orchid surrounded by baby
orchids. She carried a rosary
blessed by the late Holy Father,
Pope Pius XII.
Maid of honor was Miss Lois
Perucca, sister of the bride.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Ken-
neth Rogers .also a sister of the
bride. Bridesmaid was Miss
Edith Farek.
The attendants wore purple
velveteen sheaths with over-
skirts of lighter purple tulle,
small purple velveteen hats, and
carried bouquets of small purple
orchid's.
Best man was Capt. James
Coakley of Mt. Clements, Mich.,
brother of the groom. Grooms-
men were Paul Schlessenger of
Kansas City, Missouri and Coy
U. Spawn, Jr.
After the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held at the Briargrove
Club. Members of the house-
party included Mrs. James Nel-
son, Mrs. Loren Sandage, Mrs.
Storey Sloan, Mrs. Gordon Mc-
Granahan, M r s. Robert L.
Wright of Bay City, Miss Doris
Mary Young of Panama Canal
Zone.
After a wedding trip to Florida
the couple will live in Atlanta,
Ga. The bride is a graduate of
Heidelberg College in Tiffin,
Ohio. The groom attended the
University of Houston and is as-
sociated with International Sound
Films Inc. of Atlanta. The bride
has worked' with Theatre Inc.,
and is a former soloist for
Grace Methodist Church.
