DON’T
BE CAUGHT SHORT!
Editor. The Texan:
It is with a two-fold purpose that
I write--one is to be able to sound
off on questions I feel strongly
and another is to question through
your media the public you serve
on the hospital district’s failure
to get sufficient funds.
Who opposes it and why—surely
not the utltra-conservadves for
well they know (and preach) if
the need is not met, that octo-
pus the big giant government will
take over.
Surely not the affluent, not only
can they afford it but city and
county services will be increased
when released from hospital ser-
vices and their homes and busines-
ses will benefit.
Who then? and why?
let me tune un your lawnmower and ec
er before t! e rush. I DO THE WORK
YOUR HOME. Call before 9 a m. A
ailer 6 pm. fc- appointment. Ral

Puritan stoics (Do they say ’I
take care of me and mine and
the poor dumb slobs who don’t
can lie there and die’)?
Have they forgotten that the
most ultra-society person in town
hurt in ah accident goes to Ben
Taub? Have they forgotten that
our late president died in a city-
countv hospital?
Is Is apatny? Greed?
Do we only take from our free
society and accept no respon-
sibility?
Mr. DeHartog has beautifully
written much to reach any small
bit of compassion left in our hearts
to no avail. . .
I’m left with only why?????
