At a recent faculty meeting
was decided that the teachers would
sponsor a school Christmas Tree. It
Is the wish of the teachers that we
have a large number of patrons
present at the tree which will be on
Friday, Nov. 18. The teachers will
see that each child enrolled In
school received a package. Patrons
may place presents on the tree for
anyone that they may wish. There
will be a short program with this
event.
We have added a new feature to
the school curriculum which consists
of having chapel on Mondays, Wed-
nesdays and Fridays. The purpose of
this is -to drill the students in as-
sembly singing, having inspirational
talks from prominent citizens, and
for the purpose of creating a more
desirable school spirit. Mr. Gate-
wood has selected a list of songs
that all ^school (boUdren should
know, and we are going to attempt
to teach the students to sing them
well. Part of tills time will be used
for drilling our choral singers.
Our high school class schedule
has been so arranged that basket-
ball drill Is held in the afternoon
of each day. This will allow Mr.
Gatewood to have his evening free,
In which to prepare for his regular
Class work. Under this arrangement,
the girls will have more time for
drill.

Athletics
Stock in our junior boys team is
advancing rapidly. The reason for
this advance, is that we have twen-
ty-two boys out hustling for a place
on the team. Tne senior boys are
rapjdly getting into shape. Prospects
are‘bright f or two junior girls teams.
Mrs. Winfrey is rapidly getting the
