DISCUSS YEARBOOK
The Estherline Johnson circle of
the Baptist church met at the home
of Mrs C. N. Wofford Monday aft-
ernoon. After a short business ses-
sion Mrs. R. E. Brazil led in the
discussion of the W. M. U. year-
book.
Those present were Mesdames C.
N. Wofford, Lee Guthrie, M. L. Gun-
ter, Minnie Parmer, T. Newkirk and
R. E. Brazil.
STEWARDSHIP TOPIC
FOR M. E. WOMEN
Mrs. Melvin Howe was leader of
the program “Stewardship” in the
regular meeting of the Methodist
W. M. S. Monday afternoon at the
church.
Mrs. J. M. Porter discussed the
life of Kagawa, a social worker in
Japan, and Mrs. H. E. Nicholson
read some poems written by him.
Those present were Mesdames H.
E. Nicholson, J. M. Porter, Melvin
Howe. J. D. Merriman, D. A. Hunt,
E. T. Casper, J. M. Lawrence, Fred
Parmer, Jack Badley and, W. W.
Adams.

The District Home Economics club
met In Wheeler Saturday at the
Methodist church for their first
meeting, namely to organize.
The program was as follows:
From 9:30 to 10 o’clock was reg-
istration.
10 to 12 o'clock election of offi-
cers.
The guests were served a lunch-
eon at the noon hour in the base-
ment of the Methodist church.
The program for the afternoon
was on the Centennial. Superin-
tendent J. L. Gilmore gave a talk
on “The Centennial—Purpose and
History.” Mrs. J. M. Porter talked
on the “Centennial Celebration.”
“Pacts About Texas History and the
History of Mobeetie” was given by
Eunice Mae Dyson of Mobeetie. Ner-
ine Young, Orveta Puett and Mar-
tha Alice Wiley favored the group
with a song, “Old Faithful.”
At 2:30 there was an open house
and tea at the home economies
cottage.
Officers elected for the club are
Pay Roscoe of Memphis, president;
Joe Prances Worley of Claude, vice
j president; Adell Hampton of Wheel-
I er, treasurer; Lois Glenn of Quail,
secretary; Joe McKinney of Dodson-
ville, historian; Fleta Mae Hicker-
son of Allison, reporter, and Del
Ray Bowman of Estelline, song
leader.
Schools represented were Mem-
phis, Shamrock, Quail, Claude, Es-
telline, Allison, Dodsonville, Mobee-
tie and Wheeler.
Mrs. Dollie Bashaw of Briscoe at-
tended to business in Wheeler Mon-
day.
George Kite of McLean was at-
tending to business in Wheeler Mon-
day.
Mrs. J. W. Hooker and daughter,
Miss Doris, and son, Tris, Miss Hat-
tie Womack and Mrs. Prank Bu-
chanan were visitors in Pampa Sun-
day afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Eton Myers of
Shamrock visited in Wheeler Sun-
day with friends and relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Stewart of Am-
arillo visited her brother, Mi-, and
Mrs. J. H. Richards Saturday after-
noon.
Mrs. George Porter and Mrs. W.
W. Jenkins visited in Mobeetie Sat-
urday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Caperton of
Shamrock visited in Wheeler Sun-
day afternoon.
Mrs. J. A. Winchester of Shamrock
