E. L. Prltchitt, principal of Chil-
dress high school, was elected su-
perintendent or the Wellington
schools in a meeting of the board
Wednesday night. May 7, Cameron
Beam, president, announced.
, Mr. Prltchitt win take over his
duties June 1, but prior to that
time he will divide his time be-
tween the Wellington and Chil-
dress schools.
.“The school board feels that It
has the right man," Mr. Beam said.
"We have talked with people at
Childress who knows his work and
j we believe Mr. Prltchitt is one of
| the strongest school men in the
'area."
j The new superintendent has had
j 13 years teaching experience. He
received his bachelor's degree from
East Texas State Teachers College,
Commerce, and did graduate work
at Southern Methodist University
and the University of Texas.
His home town Is Wlnnsboro and
he formerly taught there.
Mrs. Prltchitt Is also a teacher
and Is a member of the Childress
faculty.
Both are active workers In the
Baptist Church and he is a former
Sunday School superintendent. He
Is a member of the Rotary Club
and la In charge of publishing the
club bulletin at Childress. . '
