HENHOUSES GIVEN LIGHTS
IN RUSE FOR MORE EGGS
RALEIGH, N. C. (JP)—Farmers and
poultrynien of this section are equip-
ping their henhouses with electric
lighting—to employ the "stretch-
out" system on the feathered flock.
With winter and its shortened
days, hens spend most of their time
on the roost, thus becoming less
productive.
Switching lights on about 4:30 a.
m. gives the birds from 12 to 14
hours in which to lay eggs.
