On Liquidation of Church Indebtedness
and the Formal Dedication Sunday
Forty-one years ago, on June 17, the First Methodist Church of Shamrock
was organized by Rev. W. L. Harris in a walnut grove at the ranch home of
Mrs. Mary Ruth Jones, on the North Fork of Red River in Wheeler coun-
ty. After worshipping in homes and school houses for five years, the first
church bulding was erected.
Forty-one years later, all indebtedness of the present splendid edifice which
was started in 1926, has been liquidated, and it is a tribute to hundreds of
faithful Shamrock people, within and outside the Methodist congregation.
And forty-one years finds membership in the church extended from 15
charter members to the present roster of 729. We say CONGRATULA-
TIONS to the past and present membership and leadership of the First
Methodist church of Shamrock on the occasion of the Dedicatory Service
next Sunday.
THE CHURCH HAS
SOMETHING FOR
You and the church are inter-de-
pendent. Without the church,
your community would degen-
erate into a materialistic group
of selfish individuals. It is the
church that provides a back-
ground of ideals, and unity of
purpose. The church is at the
source of countless benefits that
you take for granted and enjoy
daily.
YOU HAVE
SOMETHING FOR
THE CHURCH
Without your support, in turn,
the church would cease to exist.
Your duty to the church, there-
fore, and to your fellows, your-
self and your God, is to give
your support by regular attend-
ance.
ALL CHURCHES
OF SHAMROCK
EXTEND YOU
A MOST HEARTY
WELCOME!
