slipped and went down under his
own steam. Mike Moore then carried
the ball over for the TD and tried
for the extra two points but was
stopped.
Champ Davis recovered a Chil-
dress fumble on the 38 to set the
stage for the big Mitch to go 12
yards for a TD. Moore gathered
in the two points to make the score
22-6.
Childress was forced to punt on
the next series of downs, and big,

Young for the two points, and the
quarter ended with the Irish ahead

the fourth quarter with Rood rum
turned in by Kenneth Rhodes and
Johnny EUx. Childress managed to
score another TD in the final
stanza and the game ended with a
score of 30-14.
Coach John Bond, in referring
to the game, said: “I’d like to see
what our boys could do if they
played four quarters instead of one,
as we are prone to do." That was
in reference to the slow first hall
and the tremendous third quarter.
Coach Bond has been stressing
kicking and punting in practice,
but so far his team hasn't had to
use it much.
The Little Irish will play Wheeler
on the local field this week and axe
expecting a tough ball game. They
are working hard and will be ready
to go.

INFORMATION
FOR VETERANS
Q — I was retired by the Air
Force for disabilities incurred in an
aircraft accident in 1958. I was
told then that no training was
available under VA programs.
Could that be true?
A — It could have been true
then, as Vocational Rehabilitation
benefits were formerly povided on-
ly for wartime disabilities. Train-
ing is now available if needed to
overcome your peacetime disabili-
ties. You should ask your VA Re-
gional Office to determine your
eligibility.
Q — In reviewing my govern-
ment life insurance policy, X find
no record of who is supposed to get
the insurance should I die. How do
I find out who is named as the
beneficiary? •
A — Your original designation
of beneficiary is on file in the of-
fice where your insurance prem-
iums are paid. You can bring your
beneficiary designation up to date
by executing a new designation
form. The form can be picked up
at any VA office.
Q — I have lost my original dis-
charge and was told by a friend I
must have the original for VA
home loan guaranty purposes. Is
this true?
A — VA would like to have the
original. But If It has been lost,
they will accept a certififed copy.

TAX MAN SAM SEZ:
The keeping of records is a fav-
orite subject with the Internal
Revenue Service. For quite a few
years the good tax folks have been
encouraging taxpayers to keep bet-
ter records. On occasion this “en-
couragement" takes the form of
disallowing the taxpayer's deduc-
tion during an audit because he
can’t prove the deduction.
'Hie new series of public service
TV spot films issued by Internal
Revenue Service points out that
the changes in the law make it
more important than ever to keep
lax records.
Guess wo had better get around
to straightening up those receipts
and posting up the family books.
Delta Kappa Gumma will hold
the regional meeting at Tascosft
High 8chool in Amarillo on Satur-
day, October 10 The general session
will begin at 9:30 a.m., and a
luncheon will be served at the noon
hour. A number of Shamrock
teachers are members of the organi-
zation.
