a fine season to aave small grain.
Mr. Wm. Shipman was married

There was quite an enjoyable
ft»h fry on Rough creek yesterday,

your scribe.
Our tceool board has only had
four applications from teachers up
to date.
Health is very good at present,
and Dr. Hickey has but little to do
professionally.
Claude Wilkes had his collar
- bone broken last Friday by being
thrown from his horse. Dr. Hick-

getting along nicely.
A number of our citizens have
been attending Rev. Sam Small’s
meeting at Hico the past week
We were very sorry to hear of the

Central Club Meeting.
At a meeting of the People’s party
central club, held at Dublin last
Saturday at 2 o’clock,at which meet-
ing was a good attendance of mem-
bers and delegates from many dif-
ferent clubs, the following reso-
lutions were adopted:
Resolved, That this body hereby
declares itself fully in favor of the
idea of a double primary and that
uo candidate fur Humiliation uf the
People’s party be declared the nom-
inee unless he receive a majority of
Votes cast.
Resolyed, That we suggest that
each club in Erath county send its
executive committee man, or if
more convenient some other per-
son, as a regular delegate from
their club to the meeting called by
the chairman to meet on the 1st
Monday in July to decide whether
or not we conduct our primaries on
a basis of requiring a majority vote.
Resolved, (That said committee-
man, or delegate, be instructed by
his club to vote as his club may
may dictate.
Resolved, That we favor holding
the second primary on Wednesday
of the following week after the first.

Clarkson People’s Party Club.
Last Saturday night Editor J. S.
Daley, of the Progress, spoke at
Clarkson school-house, in the Hi-
ker’s gin settlement, a few miles
east of Dublin and organized a Peo-
ples party club at that place. Rev.
J. K. Morton was elected president,
D. P. Cline, vice-president, Perry
Smith, secretary, and quite a good
number went down on the rolls.
The club set its regular meetings
for each Saturday night before the
2nd and 4th Sunday in each month
and agreed on having a special
meeting to-morrow,Saturday night.
An effort will be made to have
speakers at every meeting, and ev-
ery one is invited to come out re-
gardless of whether they are mem-
bers of the club or not.
Plcalc at (||lmore July to. i«o6.
Everybody invited and especially
all candidates. Will have a speech
on education by a prominent speak-
er, followed by political speaking
and announcement of candidates.
Come one, come all, is the invita-
tion of Gilmore and surrounding
community. Gilmore abounds in
pretty girls and women, ugly men
and plenty of grub. So come and
we will do our best to entertain
yon, and we believe you will feel
better ever afterwards.

" special Campaign offer
Special Notice to People’s Party
Club* of Erath County.
It is absolutely necessary that the
county secretary have a full ahd
complete list of all dubs organized
in Krath county, and the president
and secretary of each club, as well
as the members, should at once see
to It that a report of their club is
sent in giving tbe following infor-
mation:
1— Name of the school-house at
which the club meats, or the name
by which the clubls known. Where
the plpce is known bv more than
one name, each should be given.
2— location of club from nearest
postoffice, and also nearest depot
station in Erath county.
8—Number of the school district
in which the club is located.
4— -Name of the president and
secretary of the club, with the cor-
rect postoffice address of each,
5— Number of voters who are
members of the club.
6— Regular time of meetings of
the club.
It is most important that your
county secretary have this informa-
tion at once, and everv member is
requested to see that it is forwarded
to his address at Dublin, Texas,
marked “ private” ontheenvelope
in order that it may be properly
kept together.
A list of the clubs, together with
the names of the presidents and
secretaries will be published in the
Progress as soon as the list is com-
plete; and will also be furnished the
Stephenville Tribune. Please act
promptly. J. 8. Dai.ey,
Secretary P. P. of Erath Co.
Spoon* Fro* to All-
I read in the Christian Standard
that Miss A. M. Fritz, Station A,
St. Louis, Mo , would give an ele-
gant plated hook spoon to any one
who would send her ten two-cent
stamps. I sent for one and found
it so useful that I showed it to my
friends, and made 813 in two hours,
taking orders for the spoon. The
hook spoon is a household necessi-
ty. It cannot slip into the dish
or cooking vessel, being held in
the place by a hook on the back.
The spoon is something house
keepers have needed ever since
spoons have been invented. Any
one can get a sample spoon by
sending ten two-cent stamps to
Miss Fritz. This is a splendid way
to make money around home.
Very truly,
1-13-t JeanetteS.
