Clarence Rogers of Brown-
wood is visiting Jas. Brown and
family and other relatives in
Carrollton this week. Mr. Rogers
has been employed with W. R.
Smitti in a store near Oak Cliff.

Perry C. Smith and Miss Nan-
nie J. Russell were born and
reared near Jackson, Miss., at
which pluee they were married.
They iinigrated to Texas in 18613
and first settled near w lie re
Alpha now stands, afterwards
moving to Fanners Branch,
where the widow still resides
with her eldest son, James.
Seven children were born to Mr.
and Mrs. Smith, all of whom are
living except Clarence, who died
in childhood. Perry C. Smith,
the father, died at Farmers
Branch about 28 years ago and
his remains were buried in the
cemetery at Webbs Chapel.
