PROPOSING an Amendment to the
Constitution of the State of Texa* so
as to provide for continuous salary
per diem of all member* of the Legis-
lature during their tenure of office.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGIS-
LATURE OF THE STATE OF
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 24 of Ar-
ticle in of the Constitution of Texas
be amended so as to hereafter read
aa follows:
“Section 24. Members of the Leg-
islature shall receive from the public
Treasury a per diem of Ten Dollar*
($10) per day during their tenure of
office. In addition to the per diem
the members of each House shall be
entitled to mileage in going to and
returning from the seat of govern-
ment, which mileage shall not exceed
Two Dollars and Fifty cents ($2.50)
for each twenty-five (25) miles, the
distance to be computed by the near-
est and moit direct route of travel
by land, regardless of raibwaya or
water routes; and the Comptroller of
the State shall prepare and pre-
serve a table of distances to each
county, seat, now or hereafter to be
established; and by such table the
mileage of each member shall be
oaid; but no member shall be en-
titled to mileage for any extra ses-
sion that may be called within one
day after the adjournment of any
regular or called session.”
Sec. 2. The following Constitu-

Mrs. Lucille M. Goode, the former
Lucille McDermott, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles McDermott of Cam.
eron, received Bachelor of Arts de-
gree in Library Science at Texas
State College for women, Denton, on
May 31, 1945.
Mrs. Goode was an honor graduate
and maintained a “B” average
throughout the four years at the Col-
lege. While there she was president
of the Library Science Club, and
Reporter and Historian for the Ser-
vice Wives Club. She held a position
on the Student Advisory Council, and
the T. S. C. W. Round Table, and was
a member of the Philomathia Liter-
ary Club for three years In 1942,
she was a T. S. C. W. Senior Favorite
at Texas A. & M. College.
