Lee Manor in-house TV stations. There
is also a built-in camera system in the
dining room which broadcasts programs
directly to the residents' rooms for the
enjoyment of those unable to attend the
program.
There is an easily accessible, big screen
plasma television available for residents
and their visitors to display pictures or
movies for everyone to enjoy, such as
family vacations, home videos, baby pic-
tures, etc.
A computer is available for residents
to use, complete with Internet for e-mail,
surfing the Web, typing, etc. Many areas
of the building are equipped for wireless
Internet access for those
residents who have their
own computers.
Kristi Lee Manor is also
installed with surveillance
cameras, excluding resident
rooms (for privacy), in order
to maintain a safe, moni-
tored environment for residents.
A state-ot-the-art monitoring system
with on-person monitoring devices is
also one of the attributes of this long-
term care facility, which not only alerts
staff members if a resident leaves the
facility, but while in the building, the sys-
tem will keep track of where the resident
is located.
The Kristi Lee Manor shuttle bus is
also available to transport residents on
group field trips, outings and outside
activities.

Emergency Farm loan applications
being accepted tor drought and
wildfire damages in Nolan County
The f arm Service Agency (FSA) is now
accepting applications for Emergency
f arm Loans resulting from damages and
losses caused by drought, above normal
temperatures, and associated wildfires
on January 1, 2009 and continuing.
Nolan County has been named a pri-
mary disaster county where eligible
farmers may qualify for ESA EM loan
assistance. Farm Loan Manager, Justin
B. Holland, asks fanners who want to
apply for emergency loans to submit
there applications as soon as possible.
The deadline for applications is Dec.
28, 2009, but if farmers wait too long, a
backlog will develop and cause delays.
Generally, farmers who have lost 30
percent of their production due to des-
ignated disaster are eligible for emer-
gency loans. The FSA office is located at
103 W. Florida Avenue is Sweetwater,
Texas.

in Clear Lake, Texas.
In her new position,
Olige is responsible for
business operations,
nutrition education and
outreach, program com-
pliance, and oversight of
administrative and oper-
ational budgets for all
nutrition programs.

AUSTIN —The Texas
Department of Agriculture,
in partnership with Sam
Houston State University
(SHSU), has launched a
new initiative called the
Texas Rural Internship
Program. The program
allows university students
who grew up in urban
areas to experience life
in rural Texas towns and
see the true impact rural
communities have on our
state’s economy.
Six SHSU students will
intern in Brady, Hamilton,
Levelland, Sail Juan and
Van Horn. Agriculture
Commissioner Todd
Staples wants the students
to experience the diverse
quality of life offered by
many rural Texas commu-
nities.
“Our rural heritage
