of the soul in Chr st by thr state-

there to die. and have the Roman
to diers thrust the spear into His
I side from which came out both
BLOOD and WATER. And that
through the v.rtue of these elements
i taken from the side of Christ, God
I Almighty, by the moving of the Holy
.Spir.t and the proclamation of the
ever.asting Gospel, ia now forming
and gathering from the four winds
| of the earth the spotless and g'ortous
| Hrnie of Jesus Christ, of which Eve
was a God g.ven type. Therefore, in
order to symbolize the above spiritual
truths, it was meet that Adam, the
first type of Christ, should first be
put in the Garden on probation, and
then as Christ was to be put to death
on the Cross, even so did God cause
a great sleep—a symbol of death —
to fall upon Adam; and just as Jesus
Christ was to have His side opened
by the soldiers’ spears, even so God
opened the side of Adam; and in like
manner, as God had determined
from before the foundation of the
world, that out of the sacrificial body
of Jesus Christ should be taken the
spiritual material of which the Bride
and Wife, the ( hutch, of His Son,
should be made, did God take from
the wounded side of the first Adam
a rib and formed a woman and
brought her to Adam and Adam said,
"This is now bone of my bone, and
flesh of my flesh,’’ thus setting forth
the immutable fact that we, who
would be saved from sin, death, hell
and eternal Woe, and become part of
the Church, the Bride and Wife of
JeWus Christ, must so partake of
Christ as to be bom of the Spirit,
and be so transformed by the renew-
ing of the Holy Ghost, that spiritual-
'y speaking, we shall be BONE of
His BONE. FLESH of His FLESH.
Just as Christ and the Church, from
Eternity was to be ONE, even so did
God declare that man and wife, the
types of Christ and the Chur«h.
should be ONE. See Gen. 2:20 to 2 4.
And as to man and wife being the
t pes of Christ and the Church, see
£.ph. 5:2.2 to 32, part of which rer.ds,
“For the husband is the head of the
w fe. even as Christ is the head of
the ( hurch.” Therefore, as the
Church is subject unto Christ, so let
the wife be subject unto her hus-
band in every thing
Husbands, love your wives, even
v* Christ also loved the Church, and
’”!Vf Himse.f for it, that He might
sanctify and e'ear <e it by the washing
of water, by the Word, that He might
!>e«ent :t to Himself a glorious
'"hurch, not having snot or wrinkle,
or any such thing; but that it should
he Holy and without blemish. "For
we“—true Christians—"are mem-
bers of His body, of His flesh, and
of His bone. “This is a great mys-
tery; but I speak of Christ and the
i hurch." Please notice that Jesus
gave Himself for her—the true.
Church—that she might be SANCTI-
FIED. CLEANSED, and be HOLY;
without SPOT or WRINKLE, a GLO-
RIOUS Church.

parts of hi* body, not to be mentioned
here, are among the most infallible,
instructive and convincing evidence*
of the TRU NK creature being ,n the
image of the TRIUNE creator, who
indued man with re creative power*
symbolic of the recreative powers of
the TRIUNE God, who beget* us
unto everlasting life through Jesus
—the living Word —by the conduct-
ing. injecting and executing person
and power of the Holy Ghost. God
the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Ghost, re-creating man by
way of a begetal by the Word. But
leaving the minutia of man’s body,
and viewing him more comprehensive-
ly, we see him a* physical being, hav-
ing a body that comprehends the en-
tire manhood, corresponding to God
the F’ather, who also comprehends
the entire Godhead.
A second view tasily re Tea's that
man is a metaphysical creature, hav-
ing an intellect, a mind. That is, en-
dowed with thinking faculties. This
metaphysical part of man. which we
will call the second person of the
manhood, corresponds to the second
Person in the Godhead, and may be
reckoned as semi-emotional, com-
pared to that of the heart; just as
the Spirit of Christ, Regenerating
Grace, is semi-spiritual, when com-
pared to the third person of the God-
head known as the Holy Ghost.
We also call the attention of the
reader to the beautiful and helpful
analogy between the second person
in the Godhead and that of the man-
hood. That is, mind. Namely, that
we can neither receive a mesage
from, nor convey a message to, nor in
any way approach into or obtain
spiritual fellowship with God except
by and through Je*u* Christ, the sec-
ond person of the Godhead. Jesus
said. “No man cometh to the Father
but by Me.” And we may truly say
•hit no one can possibly obtain the
ri;ft of the Holy Ghost the thin1
ie-,r>n of the Godhead, except by
• i through the second person of th -
»odhead. Not only mu<t we accept
Him as a sacriflcice for sina, hut als:
we mu*t receive His Spirit, Regener-
ating Grace, he bom aifxin, befon
<• can possibly approach unto and
r<* eive the third person in the entim
• .nrtifiration of the soul. Ever
>, if we would approach our fellow
an in a proper and -fTective man-
-r. and hold sweet and profitable
mj'al intercourse with him, it most
<i«ne through the Intellect, or th
m nd, the second person of manhood.
Now, as a third and last consider-
ation of the constitutional nature of
man. we look down into the deepest
and richest part of his being; and be-
hold, the physical, soul-ological, spiri-
taa. reaim of immortal man created
in the image of God, Hi* Maker. This
the heart This third person, so to
speak, of the manhood, corresponds
the ; to the third person in the GodheaB.
