Two important events fall on Sun-
day. May 16th. It has been set aside
as Sunday School Day in the West
Texas Conference. The purpose of
the day is to emphasize the work of
the Church School. May we add to
that aim our own resolve to show
our appreciation of the work of the
officers and teachers of the church
school. Many of them have worked
a long time at the task and'are very
faithful from Sunday to Sunday
This service will be presented by the
members of the Church School at the
11 o’clock hour. Sunday is also the
date of Pentecost which occurred
fifty days after Easter. Sunday
rafting at 8 V. M. the sermon will
deal with Pentecost as sot forth in
the Book of Acts

Trapped in their automobile for
nearly an hour when it skidded and
overturned in a ditch three Bexar
county motorists narrowly escaped
serious injury Sunday night.
The automobile, driven by Edgar
H. Zimmermann, 2122 Saunders ave-
nue, was on the Hitzfelder road be-
tween San Antonio and I^aCoste
when it skidded on the loose gravel
and overturned in a four-foot ditch.
The crash caused the doors to jam
and Zimmerman and his companions,
Ernest Rtiin of I^aCoste and Frank
Conrad, of Devine, were unable to
extricate themselves.
Alexander Hitzfelder, residing on
the Hitzfelder road, finally came to
their aid and succeeded in releasing
them.
Zimmerman suffered a fractured
collar bone, but his companions es-
caped uninjured. Zimmerman was
treated at the office of I>r. J. A.
