VYING FOR Homecoming Queen at Robert E. Lee High, these
young ladies ranked top out of ten Lee hopefuls. Senior Christy
Wilson was named queen during half-time activities Friday.
Runners-up were seniors (1.) Janice Higgins and Janice Dawsey.
New Class At Sharpstown Hospital
A new series of classes in the
Lamaze Method of preparation
for childbirth will begin Nov. 10,
at Sharpstown General Hospital.
Both husbands and wives will
attend the six-weeks course to
learn conditioning exercises and
breathing techniques to make la-
bor and delivery easier. Class
participants will learn the ana-
tomy and physiology of the birth
process and see a film on labor
and delivery.
Instructors are Registered
Nurses and Physical Therapists.
Permission from the attending
physician is required in all cases.
The Houston Organization for
Parent Education, Inc. sponsors
the course and enrollment infor-
mation may be obtained from
them.
United Daughters
To Meet Nov. 20
The meeting of the Robert E.
Lee Chapter of the United Daugh-
ters of the Confederacy will be
hold on Nov. 20, at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Harold H. Laverty will
be the hostess in her home at
523 South Third. Mrs. John C.
Williams and Miss Diane La-
verty are co-hostesses.
Mrs. J.D. Rondeaux will pre-
sent the program on “Southern
Music.’’
County Seminar
The Harris County Veterinary
Medical Association will sponsor
a seminar Sunday, Nov. 16 at the
Royal Coach Inn.
Dr. William F. Jackson, pri-
vate practitioner from Lakeland,
Fla., will be the guest lecutrer.
Dr. Jackson will discuss optha-
lmology, cardiology and derma-
tology.
This Seminar is part of the
Texas Veterinary Medical As-
sociation program of continuing
education for graduate veterinar-
ians.
