This Week Is Entry Week
All of the City of Bellaire
and our surrounding trade area
buzzed with excitement the past
week as one of the greatest prize
giving events of all was announced
in the pages of this newspaper.
Hundreds of people looked for-
ward to seeing the FIRST PRIZE
1971 CHEVY-NOVA which will be
on display in the showroom of
CHAMBER
ACTION

Art lovers and those interested
in paintings are urged by Mike
Bostain, assistant vice president
and manager of Southwestern
Savings, 5301A Bissonnet, to drop
in their building any time during
the period of March 26 through
April 6 and view the exhibit by
the Bellaire Recreation Art Class
that can be seen any time dur-
ing office hours which are 9 to
4 p.m. daily and from 9 to 12:30
on Saturday. . .welcome back to
Dons Bellaire Record Shop as
a Chamber member. DonJanicek,
with Betty his wife have been lo-
cated at 5008 Bissonnet going on
15th years come April 1. They
have big plans for their own build-
ing which they hope to see under
construction in the very near fu-
ture. . .We also want to welcome
Dr. Derrick Boldt, M.D., 5319
Dashwood to our professional
ranks and the Rice Avenue Arco
Service, Mr. Dean Tice, owner,
to regular membership.
This past week witnessed an
interesting session at the Cham-
ber Building that highlights the
times we live in when Mr. P.A.
“Pat" Williams, member of the
Texas Industrial Commission
staff, presented citations from
the Commission and the Gover-
nor for having made a ‘‘signifi-
cant contribution to Texas’ In-
dustrial development. ” Local re-
cipients were: D.C. Amos, Gary
Summers, Roger B. Westrup, Ho-
ward H. Burney, Tom Heffington,
Burgess Pool, Fred Campbell,
Frank G. Cook, Mike Bostain
and W.E. Terry. The copy of the
Computer Data that resulted from
a year of compilation of statis-
tics incorporating pertinent in-
dustrial location information in-
to the nations’ most sophisticat-
ed computerzied site location
data bank. . .This will enable the
State Commission to provide
data in answer to industrial in-
quires from corporations seek-
ing either re-location sites or
new sites for new industry. . .
was left with the Chamber and
any corrections to be sent back
for final correction in the data
bank. It will also be upgraded
as data is changed or as often
as significant changes occur.
Last week B&P Dinner was an-
other pleasurable evening that
these events have become and
many members are making this
monthly event a must on their
calendar.

A number of contestants came
in and entered the contest and
more will be interviewed this
and next week. Many more con-
testants are stilt needed to pro-
perly cover the territory in the
short time alloted to the con-
test.
OTHER PRIZES
In addition to the 1971 Chevy,
worth $2,695 there is a Second
Grand Prize of $750 in cash and
four big cash bonus awards Third,
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth place
winners.
In addition to this, every ac-
tive participant will receive a
weekly commision check for 20
percent ($1 on $5) on all money
turned in by them each week.
Threfore, there can be no los-
ers, as everyone who works gets
paid
This contest is not a guessing
game, a puzzle solver nor a
“drawing’’and requires no in-
vestment of any kind on the part
of the contestant, now or later.
Entries will not be asked to
answer some “Jack-pot” ques-
tion, write a letter on “Why I
like this newspaper” or put a
“lucky” ticket in a bowl.
No, there are no catches or
hidden phrases in this contest.
It is purely and simply a con-
test based on effort along and
the participant who earns the
most votes on the sale of sub-
scription to The TEXAN will win
the GRAND PRIZE CHEVY. It’s
as simple as that.
Now let’s be brief and tell you
what to do. The contest office is
located at 6622 Ferris, Houston.
If you would like to take advan-
tage of this liberal and altoge-
ther attractive offer, simplydrop
in the contest office or give us a
ring on the phone. The number

Bill Nimmo of Nimmo Circul-
ation Service of California, has
been engaged to handle the en-
tire proposition in full. He will
explain in full to any and all who
care to learn whether or not you
enter the contest.

tails, you will be handed an entry
blank. If you think the deal is a
good one you may sign the entry
blank and obtain a subscription
receipt book. From then on you
are a representative of this news-
paper for the duration or until
May 10.
