‘Slept-ln’ Bed Adds Interest
Shopping Center—
One of the most original displays prepared for the opening of
the new shopping center in Bellaire is this one in the window of the
Bellaire Furniture Studio. The note, supposedly from a visiting
couple, remarks on the comfort of the particular sofa-bed displayed.
Note the newspapers and slippers to add a touch of reality to the
scene. *

The Housing Problem
“Times do change,” Ike Finn
told the preacher after Sunday
dinner. “My pap had a four-room
double log cabin that the neigh-
bors built in one day at a log
raisin.’ It was paid for from the
beginning and stood a pretty sub-
stantial building for 60 years. My
boy tore it down and put up a
house about the same size that took
six months to build. It cost $10,-
000 and the foundation and plaster
are cracked, the doors sag, the
winders stick, and he still owes
$7,000 on the government loan.”
