Cal Farley, founder and guid-

Boy’s Ranch, pointed out that the
Joint meeting of Boy's Ranch and
the Hereford Club marked the
first of a series of such meetings.
“It was not mere chance that
the Hereford Lions Club was sel-
ected as the first club to attend
this series of Joint meetings,"
Farley said. “The Hereford Lions
have been working, helping, do-
atlng and boosting for Boy's
Ranch ever sice it opened, and It
la only fitting that the Hereford
Lions should be our first guests
—and don’t think that I am go-
ing to tell thla to all of the visit-
ing clubs, either.
“When we needed potatoes, you
Hereford Lions managed to get them
for us somehow. I don’t know who
'you chiseled them from—but they
always got here. You’ve made cash
donations, sponsored boys, and gen-
erally helped the program as much
as any club in the country. We are
proud to have you Hereford Lions
as guests.”
Farley also paid glowing tribute to
Lyle Blanton, a director In Boy's
Ranch, who he credited with de-
livering propane “in the days when
we had no money, leas hope—and
very little future."
The five boys from Hereford who
are now living at the ranch were
also introduced. They are Earl Smith
