H&R BLOCK
TAX TEST
It is too
late to claim a
deduction or credit
overlooked on a
1977 tax return.
□ True □ False
If you know about amending a tax
return, you probably know the
answer. If you don’t, maybe you
need H&R Block. Because
H&R .Block knows tax laws that
you might not know. You can
amend a tax return for overlooked
deductions and credits up to
three years after the filing
deadline. So the answer to
the question is FALSE.
WE'LL MAKE THE TAX LAWS
WORK FOR YOU

Q, When I turned 65,
I decided not to buy
Medicare medical in-
surance. Later, when
I changed my mind, I
was told I couldn't
apply because it was
the wrong time of the
year. When is the ri-
ght time of the
year?
A. After your first
chance, you can still
enroll in medical in-
surance during the
first three months of
any year. Your prote-
ction will start the
following July. If
you enroll after the
first year of eligib-
ility, your monthly
premium will be incr-
eased by 10 percent
for each 12 month pe-
riod you could have
had medical insuran-
ce but were not enro-
lled.
Q. When I admitted
to the hospital, I

are payment. How long
will it take for me
to get the money?
A. Medicare hospital
insurance benefits
are almost always pa-
id directly to the
hospital. When the
hospital insurance
benefits are paid,
you will receive a
notice showing the
total amount of the
bill, the amount pai-
d, and the remaining
amount for which you
are responsible.
