Miss George Ann Beever, a
freshman music major at Baylor
University, had a part iu the
opera. Othello, produced by the
Baylor Music department.
It Was a full scale grand opera
and several hundred students
tried out for parts. Dean Stern-
berg and his wife directed the
Opera, which Was presented five
nights. ,,
Miss Beever'a parents, Mr. and
Mrs, Joe Little Jr., were in Waco
over the week end to attend.

The Bill Gaines home was the
scene of a tea-stfower honoring
Miss Gaye Ann Harbin, bride-elect
of James Cowan, Saturday after-
noon, May 18.
Guests were greeted by Mrs.
Gaines and presented to Mrs. Dick
Harbin, mother of the honoree;
Miss Harbin; Mrs. Sam Cowan,
mother of the bride-groom-elect;
Mrs. J. C. Preston, grandmother of
Mias Harblti; Mrs. Dick Yantis of
Austin, sister of Mr. Cowan; Mrs.
Dale Harbin of Stephenville, aunt
of the honoree and Misses Jo
Anne Henderson and Ruthanna
White.
Tlie bride-elects colors of yel-
low and white were carried out
throughout the reception suit. Xu
the living room an arrangement
of yellow roses and white grapes
was used on the coffee table and
on the piano, moek orange blos-
soms iii a white pottery container.
The focai point was the tiered
table where a tall antique vase of
full blown yellow roses, flanked
by a miniature bride and groom
in wedding attire, was plated.
The tea, table was covered with
a white finen cloth with lace In
serts. Tlie centerpiece was yel-
low roses and orange blossoms in
u silver bowl. Single tapers in
antique crystal holders completed
the table decor.
Mrs. Joe Fletcher of Stephen
ville and AMrs. Charlie Foust al-
ternated at the silver coffee ser-
vice and were assisted in serving
by Misses Jackie Jordan, Julian-
as Hazlewood, Paula Gray and
Janyce Guyger.
Gifts-were displayed In the den
and bedrooms. Hostesses In these
rooms were Mmes. Carl Jordan

and Joe Henderson. Mrs. Joe Lit-
tle Jr. and Mrs. Calvin Hazlewood
alternated at directing callers to
the dining room and In the gift
rooms. Mr». E. E. Sikes directed
guests to the den the first hour
and Mrs. T, C. Granberry the
second hour. Mrs. Fred Fletcher
and Mrs. H, L. White alternated
as hostesses in gift rooms and
saying good-bys.
Misses Marion Gaines and Sue
Sikes presided at the register.

luncheon at Western Hills Hotel
In Fort Worth, Tuesday, May 21.

Following the luncheon a rep-
resentative of a Fort Worth de-
partment store put on a hat fash-
ion show using seven members of
the club. Those who modeled were

Refreshments of coffee, olives
and cake squares were served to
about 70 guests who called dur-
ing the appointed hours

Hall, Helen Franks and Lois
Shoemaker.
Frances Turney presided over a
hort business meeting after which
officers for the coming year were
installed. Hostesses for the meet-

Siegel and Carol Keller
