ernment hat authorixed here drove the
first piling on Wednesday. Today the
Bowers Southern Dredging company's
dredge Norman H. Davis arrived In theae
water preparatory to starting on the
widening and deepening of the ship chan-
nel. The revetment contract will Involve the
so of the following material: Round
green pilot 711t linear feet; round cre-
osoted piles I1.IJ linear feet; wallngx
krtcee and strip. 11.11 feel board
measure; riprap. 15000 tons. The con-
tract price for the building of the revet-
ment la SM4.W.S7. The revetment will
bt IMM test In length.
The dredging contract Involves the re-
moval of t.l7lM0 cubic yards of material
Ih widening the ship channel to 100 feet
and deepening It to SO feet. The material
will be deposited back of the revetment
te form a solid earthen embankment.
