Trooping crowding big and small.
On the threshold. In the hall-
Joining In the constant cry.
Ever aa the days go by
"Where's mother H
From the weary bed of pain
This same question cornea again;
From the boy with sparkling eyes.
Bearing home his earliest prize;
From the bronzed and bearded son.
Perils past and honors won
"Where's mother?"
Burdened with the lonely task
One day we may vainly aek
For the comfort of her face.
For the rest of her embrace;
Let us love her while we may;
Well for us that we can say
"Where's mother?"

Patient seeking not her own.
Anxious for the good alone
Of the children aa they cry.

Amu9ements
; Majertio Theater.
Unique and mysterious is the headline
attraction at the Majestlo this week.
"The Eagle and the Girl" furnishes much
food for (bought and warrants ths favor-
able comment heard on all sides. "Ths
Eagle" is a contrivance which resembles.
In many respects a flying machine and
It is so operated thai it can encircle tbe
auditorium to any height permitted by the
building or can bs lowered to almost
touch the heads of the auditors. In other
words It has the appearance of a real
eagle flitting about the house with a very
pretty girl in his talons. The miss sings
gayly and merrily as aha is borne aloft
and at the conclusion of ths act the eagle
files back on the stage and the lights are
relit. Thla act must be seen to be ap-
preciated it being so entirely away and
different from anything ever seen here
before.
McConnell and Simpson are weU liked
In Houston. It looks like every one in
Houston knows Miss McConnell. and
those who do not will hear about her be-
fore the week Is over. Miss McConnell
is without doubt ths funniest woman on
the stage and she will make good with
you from the very start. This clever team
Is playing Its own comedy sketch called
"Ths Stormy Hour" and every one
wishes It would last an hour as you never
grow tired of this comedy act People of
this city will remember on their last visit
here Miss McConnell sang her own song
hit "I Am Looking tor a Real Man."
This season she Is singing "I Hate to
Talk About Myself." A greater hit could
not be round in song laughter ana tears
Miss McConnell has the audience with
her. Mr. Simpson plays the Jealous hus-
band In a most capital manner.
Other excellent features of the bill are
Jane Dara and company presenting
"The Phone Girl"; Tom Moore snd
Stssla the gentleman minstrel and the
chameleon dame; the Three Burns Sisters
singers and musicians par excellence;
"Those Naity Collegians" Billy Halll-
gan and Harry Ward Miss Belle Meyers.
4 dainty singing and dancing comedienne
and the Kllndt Bros. artistic tumblers
and twisters.
The Majestograph consists of first-run
moving picture films and concludes this
excellent performa'hee. . There will be a

tonight the usual evening performance
will be given.
