There is the risk of contagion from the money it-
self the risk of loss and the risk of mistakes in
over-payment or making change. By depositing
all of your money in the bank subject to check
and paying all bills by check you eliminate all of
these several forms of risk and thus insure yourself
against mistakes loss or contagion and the cost
of the insurance is nothing. We think if you will
read this notice again you will find food for
thought and after thinking a while you will prob-
ably visit this Bank.

Cultivate the Habit of Thrift
The American Bankers' Association has inaugurated a campaign
fbF the purpose of encouraging the people to habits of thrift The
banks of every State In the Union have been asked to take up the
work. It Is a regrettable fact that people are Baving practically noth-
ing. If every man and woman who has au income will deposit 60
cants week in the bank it w ill impose no hardships; on the contrary
the habit will soon become a pleasure.
For the purpose therefore of doing our part in
the work the NATIONAL BANK OF COM-
MERCE will enter to the credit of every peraon
who will deposit 50 cents a week for 46 consecutive
weeks $1.00. For a deposit of $1.00 per week for
46 consecutive weeks we will give you a credit of
$2.00. For $2.00 per week for 46 consecutive weeks
we will give you $4.00 and we will also allow you
four per cent interest on the entire deposit.
There Is no one thing which will contribute so much to the char-
acter and welfare of a people as habits of thrift. Teach your children
therefore the value of money and encourage them to become inde-
pendent when they are sjrown. Come to the Bank and open an ac-
count; we will do everything we can to assist you.
