market closed weak at a net declrhe of 16 to
-100 poinu.
. Private cables attributed an unexpected break
la Liverpool to futtber Manchester liquidation
ananneasiness over the money market. The
penine: here was easy at a decline in response
1 to the week English market. The first trees-
for temperatures of the season were reported in
Texas and Oklahoma with prospects for still
colder weather and prices rallied several points
. en eoeerina and trade buying. Buyers of the
near months bowever sold later deliveries
and the market weskened again during tke af
ernoon. The selling was general with liauida
tion by bouses with Wall Street and western
connections particularly pruminent and there
were estimates around the floor that selling or-
dera remaining unexecuted at the close amount
cd to between 26.000 and 30.000 bales. Brok-
ers reported a higher spot basis and the crop
acWa wss generally bullish.

continued to slump until in the late afternoon

close with sellers at the limits. December

Tight money in the marketa of this country

Turkey Prices Alone
Affected in Poultry Mart
The poultry market has remained about the
same for the week with the exception of tur-
keys. New York buyers began making pur-
chase at the lowest point turkey prices reached
this year but as they have ta make shipments
earlier than buyers for Texas cities their de-
mand already baa reached the high level bring-
ing price along with it. Shipments to the
eastern cities will necessarily cease soon and
prices paid at the close will largely govern the
hifh level of local pricea for til kinds of poul-
try. This eastern influence ' win very likely
be counteracted by the nearness of the Christ-
mas holidays. ... .w . . .
Eggs arc auoted in Houston at 60c the high
mark for the year and their unusual scarcity
will probably mean a still higher price - as
Thanksgiving drawa near.
California grapes are about all gone the only
ones left being in cold storage and these wul
have to be disposed of witkln a few daya.
Apples of the best quality are coming in in
abundance but prices remain at their high
point. Few of tke cheaper gradea are in evi-
dence yet. and the consumer haa to pay the
high price for the choice gradea.
Texas be ens are coming ia alowly and are
bringing 4.00 per bushel basket.
