Whereas wo as domocrate believe

publican form of government depend
upon tho supremacy of the demo-
cratic party and tho control by said

affairs and

which will all honest domocrats
should bow and
Whereas while the national
democratic convontion at Chica-
go representing tho united and
organized democracy of tho na-
tion has adopted a platform con-
taining two planks i etho one upon
tho financial question and tho other
upon tho question of federal inter-
ference in local stato affairs which
said planks both in sentiment and
expression are at variance with what
wo havo always hold > and still do
hold hhould bo tho policy of our
party yet wo fully recoirnizo that
in hoadoption of said platform and
in the nomination of Messrs Bryan
and So wall by said convontion tho
democracy of the United States have
spokon and that it only remains for
us to submit to tho voice of our
party as so expressed
Therefore bo it resolved that
wo tho domocrats of Cameron
county as true and faithful demo
crats do hereby renew our alle-
giance to tho cause of domocracy
and pledge our earnot and hearty
support to tho nominees of tho na-
tional democratic party and we call
upon our fellow democrats to join
with us in maintaining onr old timo
loyalty to our party and its principles
We also hold that all domocrats
regardless of their opinions on tho
financial question should support tho
nominees of tho Chicago convention
and wo abominate all such who pro-
pose to support that party that is
carrying a forco bill in its coattail
pocket ready to spring it out the
moment it comes into power
Resolved that tho thanks of tho
American people regardless of party
affiliations are duo to our Presidont
for the prompt and manly stand tak-
en bv him in tho snpression of law-
lessness and disorder arising from
the Chicago strikes of 1891 and in
tho consequent preservation of life
and property Wo also commend
the present administration for ita ac
tion in maintaining and preserving
tho credit of our nation at homo and
abroad and wo most earnestly con-
demn and deprecato the unfair and
bitter attacks mado upon Mr Cleve-
land and his cabinet by designing
politicians Wo alto hold as our
party has over held since tho days
of Prosident Monroe that any acqui
sition by any of the European powern
of American territory is in deroga-
tion of andcontrary to onr republican
institutions We thereforo stand with
our preenl administration in its
well detined and outspoken policy
anent tho controversy between Ven-
ezuela and Groat Britain
Reolved that we ondorso tho able
and clean administration of Gov C
A Culberson who in the jeeir and
a half during which ho has filled
tho office of Governor has demonstra-
ted to tho people his complete fitness
for tho high position to which tliey
elovatod him two years ago Wo also
recognize the excellent public sor
vico rendered by tho other stato of-
ficers and wo therefore instruct our
delegates to the slato convention to
cast tho vote of this county as a
unit for Gov Culberson as well as
for all tho Other officors of the pres
entstato administration as long as
their names remain beforo tho con-
vention
lJolioving ai wo do in tho
ability of tho man to represent tho
intorests of the whole people of our
district in tho lower houso of
congress and with firm faith in
tho integrity and sturdiness of his
character as a man and a democrat
we horoby inttruct tho delegates
from Cameron county to c3st its vote
as a unit for Hon Rudolph Kleberg
for Roprescntativo from tho 11th
Congressional District as long as his
name is beforo the convontion
It is with pleasure that tho dem-
ocracy of Camoron county again
meets with an opportunity to show
its friendship for a man who for
nearly twenty years has served tho
people of this district so ably and
uell In him wo have found a fair
and impartial judge an able and
honest lawyor and a worthy and pa-
triotic citizen Wo accordingly in-
struct that the vote of Camoron coun-
ty he cast as a unit for tho Hon J
C Russell for judge of tho 28th
judicial district at tho onsuiug ju-
dicial convention
Wo also instruct our dologales
to the stato convention to cast
tho vote of Camoron county as-
a unit for tho Hon Allison Ma
tleld and the Hon John D McCa lI
for mombers of tho railroad com-
mission so long as their names may
be beforo tho convention and to u e
all honorable moans to secure their
nomination and this wo do boliey
ing them both by their long expor
ienco and tho sterling ability and
honesty they have manifested in tho
dischargo of thoir respective public
functions tho ono as socrotary of
stato and tho other as comptroller of
public accounts as well as by reason
of their well known business qual-
ifications progressivonsss and pub

this position tho most exacting and

Gladness Comes
With a better understanding of tbo
transient nature of the many phys-
ical ills which vanish before proper ef-
forts gentle efforts pleasantefforts
rightly directed There is comfort in
the knowledge that so many forms of
sickness are not due to any actual dis-
ease but simply to a constipated condi-
tion of the system which the pleasant
family laxative Syrup of Figs prompt-
ly removes That is why it is the only
remedy with millidnsof families nndis
everywhere esteemed so highly by all
who value good health Its beneficial
effects are due to the fact that itis the
one remedy which promotes internal
cleanliness without debilitating the
organs on which it acts It is therefore
all important in order to get ita bene-
ficial effects to note when you pur-
chase that you have the genuine arti-
cle which is manufactured by the Cali-
fornia Fig Syrup Co only and sold by
nil reputable druggists
If in tho enjoyment of good health
and the system is regular laxatives or
other remedies are then not needed If
afflicted with any sictnal disease one
may be commended to the most skillful
physicians but if in nrcd of a laxative
one should have the best and with tho
wellinformed everywhere Syrup of

used and gives most general satisfaction
