The Community 1SD
Education Foundation is plan-
ning its first benefit golf tourna-
ment to be held at Stone River
Golf course in Royse City.
Registration starts at 7:30
a.m. with an 8:30 tee time
Friday, April 9. Costs to partici-
pate range from $ 1 raffle tickets
to $1,000 event sponsorships.
Awards will be given for win-
ners of closest to the pin, long
drive and putting contest.

Heard Museum and Wildlife
Sanctuary is inviting the public
to become night owls.

presentation on "Rare Owls of

long night hike in the sanctuary
to listen for owls. Participants
should wear closed-toe shoes
and long pants.

with young artists
The Piano Symphony
Orchestra will present "Cirque
de la Symphonie and the Young

ture the grand-prize winners of
the Collin County Young Artist

"Math History: Beauty and

Easter Eggstravaganza
to hit The Heights
The Heights Baptist Church
will hold its annual Easter
Eggstravaganza at 10:30 a.m.
March 27, on the east side of the
church campus, facing US-75.
Kids from toddlers to third
grade will be divided into age
groups to hunt 7,000 candy-
filled plastic eggs. There will
also be bounce houses, face
painting and entertainment.
The Heights will celebrate
Easter with 9:15 a.m. and 10:50
a.m. services Sunday, April 4.

Lions selling hams
for camp scholarships
The Wylie Lions Club is sell-
ing smoked hams. They average
12-14 pounds and are $45 each.

host race for WPD
Wylie Citizens Police
Academy Alumni Association is
presenting a Race Against Crime
in support of the Wylie PD.
The event will begin at the
front entrance of the First
Baptist Church Event Center;
late registration will be held
from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. May 8.
Events will include a 1-mile
family fun walk at 8 a.m„ 5K
and 10K runs at 8:30, and
awards and festival at 10:30 a.m.
Registration fees are $20 for
adults until April 23, $25 on race
day, $15 for children 6-12, and
children under 5 are free. A fam-
ily pack (two adults and two
kids) is available for $55. A T-
shirt is included.

First Baptist Wylie will present
a simulcast event, to be broadcast
live on CNN, from 8:30 a.m. to 4
p.m. April 24.
The event, entitled "So Long,
Insecurity," will be presented by
Beth Moore. It will be held at the
church, 1 (K) N. First St.. and the
$20 cost includes lunch.
Participants are asked to bring
a canned good to be donated to
Wylie's Community Christian
Care Center.
The presentation urges men
and women to "kiss your insecu-

The Wylie Women's League
will have its annual Easter egg

The event is intended for

for photos with the Easter
Bunny, organizers said.

Fork 4-A students are seeking
sponsors for the 43rd annual
Show and Sale April 7 through
10 at the F.O. Birmingham
Agricultural Center on Hensley
Lane.
Funding is needed to pur-
chase belt buckles, trophies and
ribbons for students whose cat-
tle, swine, goats and sheep,
along with food, shop and horti-
culture projects, place in the
event.

bronze, $25; silver, $50; gold.
