monthly meetings.
After welcoming our new members,
President Breitkreutz introduced Bro.
Otto Hanuš of Lodge 68. Brother Hanuš
in turn introduced Bister Frances Mor-
ris who is one oř Lodge 35’s 50-year
members,. Brother Hjanus presented
her with her 50~year pin. Congratuia-
tiohs to you Sister Morris. After pre-
senting the pin Brother Hanuš gave us
some oř the history and background of
the SPJST. He then spoke his ni.es-
sage in 0'zech for these who woůld
appr.eciate hearing it in their native
tongue. Brother Hanuš also told us
about the film on Czechoslovakia that
will be shown at Lodge 66.
Sister Gloria Pavelka, Brother John
Stuekly, and Brother Rudolf Vicha
were given certificates stating they
are payed-up members.
On the sichc list were, Mark Wood,
Sister Mary Kubitza, Brother Henry
Farek, and the Bell Family. We hope
they will all he feelng better reál soon.
Brother Breitkreutz ťhanked and
compli.mented Sister Ruby Pavelka,
Sister Helen Dulock, and Sister Doro-
thy Banik on the new curtains that
they made and put up in the halí.
They are very pretty and really do
look nice.
Congratulations go to Brother Al-
bert Banik who was the lucky winner
of the dooř prize.
After the meeting was adjourned
everyčne enjoyed a delicious turkey
and dressing supper. 'The turkey and
dressing was prepared by Sísters Doro-
thy Banik, Lydia Vicha and Ruby Pa-
velka. It really was delicious ladies.
Hope to see a lot of you at our April
meeting. So long until then.

CZECHOSLOVAK FILM TO BE
■ SHOWN AT LINDEN HALL
Linden Halí, Elm. Mott, is sponsoring
a film produced by Neil Douglas on
Czechoslovakia. The presentation will
be at 8 p.m, on April 1 at the halí.
To get his plctures, Mr. Douglas was
able to explore every part of the coun-
try in the heart of Europe, from Hun-
tgary to Foland, and from the Ukraine
to East Germany. He was able to make
an objeetive picture with full permis-
slon to investigate all phases of life
.in Czechoslovakia. His camera record-
ed explodíng blast furnaces of molten
steel, giant 20,00 ton presses molding
ship propellors, Chemical plants run-

ning full tlít, and even the Interna-
tionally famous Skoda Works. He also
filmed the maklng of the famous Gzech
glass, poroelain and wood carving.
He Investigated the víllages and the
víllagers in their rich colorful cos-
tuímes in Bohemia, Moravia and Si-
lesia.
Mr. Douglas was able to make color
action records of the conditions at
present in the great spas of Czecho-
slovakia — some of the greatest. and
most numerous in the world — spas of
water and of curative muds. and the
new conditions under which they op-
eráte.
He was allowed to film their new
ballet, their theater présentations and
the priže-winning Magie Laritern én-
terta.inment.
His ítinerary included the castles
and chateaus from. previous yéars, and
he shows in this film the present type
of operation. His work included a sur-
vey of synagogues and modem
churches as well as those of the his-
torie past.
He ends his investigation with tre-
mendous pageants and a spectacle
of the Song and Dance Festival at
Strážnice where 2,000 skilled singers
and performers in magnlficent cos-
tume put on the liveliest, of pageants
with authentic recorded music.

Dear Members,
The various committees here at
Lodge 88 are busy making preparations
for thé big day which is Sunday,
March 23rd, the opening of our new
Barbecue Pit House. I am sure most of
Wednesday, March 19, 1969
you readers háve read all about the
program scheduled to také plače on
that day. Here’s hoping to see all of
you here at Lodge 88.
Sunday, March 9, Lodge Stefanik
No. 142, was the scene of a bridal
shower in honor of Sister Margaret
Hahanek, bride elect of Brother
Charles Kadle cek. The bride-to-be
looked lovely in a white A-line dress
tri.mmed in black láce and a pink cor-
sage. She received many lovely gifts.
The wedding is scheduled for April.
The young coupie are both members of
Lodge 88 and attended many of our
functions. Charles is the son of Bro.
and Sis. Amos and Della Kadlecek and
Margaret is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Kahanek of Freeport.
Bro. and Sis. A. J. and Marie Staton
celebrated their 25th wedding anniver-
sary Sunday, March 9 in the Ghandeli-
er Ballroom, with a buffet dinner and
dance.
Mrs. Staton looked lovely ín a white
crepe dress acčented with rhinestone
accessories. Tire coupie received many
lovely gifts. Brother Staton is a faith-
. fu.l member of the sociál night com-
mittee and Sister Staton helps at
many of our lodge fxmctions. Our con-
gratulations and best wishes to A. J.
and Marie and wish them many more
happy anniversaries.
Many thanks to the sociál night
committee for doing such a wonderful
job preparing the sandwiches fór the
sociál night complimentary sociál. If
yoii ever want to see an assembly line
of preparing sandwiches in operation,
just drop by and watch this committee
work; wíthin 45 minutes they prepared
food for about a 1,000 people with al-
most a 100 per cent turn out of the
sociál committee (members.
Brother Harley Cox informs me that
he has a surprise lined up about the
second week of August which I am
sure most of you will not want to miss.

It is with great, interest that I ne-
ticc the scheduled SPJST meetings at
San Angelo Lodge 160 and Rowena
Lodge 49. The reason of my being in-
terested is because I háve so many
relatives in that area. I would like very
much someday to see a beautiful
SPJST Cottonboll Ballroom. in that
area as that part of the eoun-
try Is famous for cotton productíon
and with alt the relatives in that
vicinity it shoukhťt také very long to
get cnougli people interested as they
